It'll just confirm what everyone suspects, so why would he be crucified for it? In fact, he's so likable that I almost guarantee the media splits on it. He wouldn't be crucified any more or any less than Kyrie Irving for "chasing him away" or Kevin Love for "not living up to the expectations" or the Cavs in general for "not being able to support him the right way." Sure he'll get a ton of criticism, but if he left it'd be to a place where he could win rings and that's all he cares about. He knows what his legacy looks like right now compared to other greats. He wants more than two rings and I think he realizes it won't happen in Cleveland so he might have to come up with a new plan. I'm not saying he will, but there's certainly some fire to all this smoke.
I'd be cool with it because we'd probably end up with more banners than the C Bags and that's the only thing on my mind. I came up with that scenario a few weeks ago as a joke, but I wonder if it's something LeBron has on his periphery. Not as an actual idea, but as a concept because he recognizes that he won't win anything in Cleveland. You think maybe he's thought about "well s*** what if I go to ______ to get a ring? Can I do it? Can I leave again?" I think those thoughts are genuinely going through his head right now. The teams that could afford his max is not a very long list, but I think he honestly has an eye on the NBA looking for a place where he might be able to build a new Miami type of thing. A new situation where his road would be easier. As for could I root for them? I know I'm in the minority on this site, but hell yeah. I don't have to like LeBron, but with Durant and Russell in the fold he won't have to win games for you and that's a big deal. All I care about is how many banners can we hang?
With as much as I hated Pedo-Malone, I know I would eventually get around to rooting for them. If nothing else, I'd like to see Durant win since he's my favorite player that's not a Laker.
This is the real threat of LBJ winning another Ring. Not simply because of another ring, but the "extra weight" it carries for the city and his legacy. He would be dubbed "The Savior" He will be the greatest player to grace the court according to the media.... (rolls eyes)
I think LeBron is on his way out....to where, I'm not sure but if I was a betting man, I would say that he's headed back to Miami now that they've loaded up on talent with Whiteside, Dragic, Winslow, JJ, McRoberts and Tyler Johnson....while Wade and Bosh are still very effective players. The other spot he could end up in? The stupid Clippers. The darkhorse? Lakers. And remember, if we don't get the draft pick, and we stretch Swaggy P....we'll have THREE max slots. What would stop LeBron from getting Wade and Durant to join him in LA? Or getting Wade and Melo to join him in LA (we could trade for Melo)? That's really the only spot where LeBron can form another big 3 from scratch overnight....well, I guess besides Miami (i'm not sure what their cap situation is, but I think it IS possible for them to get LeBron back).
Why would we want Melo? He's a shell of himself now and he's a horrible fit with Julius, D-LO, and Jordan. LeBron I'm fine with, but I don't want any part of Carmelo. It's been proven time and time again that he is a ball stopper. He isn't gonna make the players around him better. Still horrible defensively. LeBron I'm fine with because he's still at worst a top three player in the league and he does make his teammates better. We don't need to sign a bunch of old dudes past their prime. Durant and LeBron would be great, but c'mon man that's a pipe dream. Those guys aren't gonna leave their teams to play with a bunch of young kids who are still a couple of years away.
It's not pipe if we can get a third star in here with those two (Demarcus?). And I disagree regarding Melo. If he plays with LeBron and KD, he's going to be the best 3rd option the league has ever seen. Melo needs to be a 2nd or 3rd option at this point in his career. If he's leading a team, I agree with you 100%. If he's in a supporting role, like we've seen in Team USA...he's a beast. I would take LeBron Melo and KD in a heartbeat.
Oh god No... Among LeBron's hopes, dreams? Superteam with Melo, CP3, D-Wade http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...erteam-carmelo-anthony-chris-paul-dwyane-wade
DeMarcus Cousins? No thanks that dude is a head case personified. He has been in the league five plus seasons and still hasn't grown up yet. At this point I don't see it happening. As for Melo you're assuming he'd be willing to accept being a third wheel which nothing we've seen from him would suggest he would. He needs the ball to be effective. He's not gonna change who he is 13 years into his career. What happens to D'Angelo then? He already doesn't get the ball enough right now and with all those mouths to feed he'll never get it.
So, take two more ball dominant guys and try to make it happen, when you're all older? Miami's big three was 81 years old combined year 1. 90 when they broke up. Melo, Bron, CP3 would be 95 year 1. Long in the tooth.
Lol LeBron. If I were Kyrie, Love, or whoever, I wouldn't want to give 100% after the crap he said and the things he does. Imagine how much of a baby LeBron would be if Kyrie said, "I dream about playing with Durant. We talk about it all the time." You know...basically throwing LeBron under the bus and saying that Durant is the better SF. Edit: And I know Kyrie was getting some heat because of that rumor that he wants to leave Cleveland, but can you guys imagine yourself playing with this giant baby? It must be...so...difficult... lol.
Feel kind of sorry for LeBron looking at that GIF above. This season has tensed him all up. Poor guy has no help playing with all those scrubs, after Riley "kicked" him out of Miami.
