If we had Westbrook, he could wear the Borat swimsuit as far as I'm concerned

I would personally wear the Borat swimsuit everyday for a month if it guaranteed us Westbrook.

I think the team needs to approve this guy going for 20-25 shots next game. He is on fire lately.
It will also make him break through the next level of playing. I Believe he can score 40 points if he aims it right now.

It's not too bad...at least Clarkson doesn't come off looking like supermodel Iman [the post below yours].

I think his game is taking 10-16 shots, handling the ball a lot, and making decisions. I'm happy to let him do that every night.

Edit: I read one of the replies from the Trudell tweet; somebody mentioned something interesting...the ankle injury. There was a point in the season where he was struggling, and I know he had both ankles that were injured at one point. He seems to be finding his groove right now. He's trending upward.

It's actually my swimwear of choice. I went to Hawaii in that thing recently and got the most awesome tan lines.

Defense. He needs to improve defensively a lot. I love his offensive effectiveness, but it doesn't matter if he's getting beat. His peers are making their strides offensively, but Clarkson is already ahead of them in that department. I expect his defense to improve or he'll risk getting passed up by D'Angelo and Julius soon.

His defense is really bad. Some of that will get better when we have a defensive system (not the one Byron says we have) and even the slightest bit of communication on the defensive end. But he does seem to take plays off on that end, which has nothing to do with the system.

This guy is terrible on defense, and watching him I just don't think he has IT in him to improve defensively. Old man Derick Rose ran around him in circle last night. I wouldn't be surprise if he'll be traded for a bigger chip in the off-season.

I disagree in the sense of "him not having IT". What is IT? Correct me if I'm wrong but I took that as he doesn't have the willingness to work on being better defensively. He's definitely shown the willingness to improve as all our coaches and Mitch included said no one worked harder in the off-season than JC.

You may be right, but I think its far to earlier to say this because he definitely is someone who has enjoyed improving his game on offense. This off-season we'll see if he can put it together on the other end.

What I meant is that he just doesn't have the size & and lateral quickness to defense the 2 in the NBA consistently. When he was matching up with Klay, he was getting abused in the post and off- the dribble every time down the court. I honestly think he has hit his PEAK. It's best to trade him now when his value is HIGH. His ceiling is probably Jamal Crawford.

If this is his peak, which his possible, why do we need to trade him? A guy that can get you 15-20 PPG efficiently, take over in stretches and make nice plays for himself and teammates, get 5-6 assists, and is just 23, those guys aren't just everywhere. It's possible at his size and as a 4 year college player he has reached what he's gonna be, but that's pretty damn good. I still think his defense can be improved though, he works hard, and I'd like to see it under a real coach with a system on either end. Remember he's doing what he's doing offensively basically on his own, because this "system" does no one any favors. Defensively, yes, one on one he's bad, and the system can't be used as much of an excuse, but I'd still keep him and see him under a real coach unless you get offered someone really, really good for him. Then if you want to trade him next season if he isn't improving or something you still can.

We don't have to trade him, but if he plateaus here (I don't think he will), then he's best suited as a 6th Man which is fine for me too. Having him off the bench would be a tremendous luxury if we're able to convince a couple of other guards to come here this summer.

Say we are able to pry away Harrison Barnes and sign Demar Derozan. If you move Clarkson to the bench, you're looking at one hell of a dynamic lineup on the perimeter.

    Russell/Clarkson
    Derozan/Williams
    Barnes

With Clarkson and Derozan able to both move between PG/SG and SG/SF respectively.

As this season has played on, I've been swayed into thinking that he is probably a good sixth man/first guard off the bench. I don't think he is a sg on a championship team unless we have a next level sf at the other wing spot (ie Durant). I could be wrong, but I think he is best suited as punch off the bench.

Yeah I love JC but I think his ceiling isn't much higher then what you see right now. He's a solid starting guard.

But he'd be a great 6th man with his scoring punch and ability to play both guard spots.

I like Jordan a lot. The guy can flat out score from all over the court. His offense is great. But he really, really does need to work on his defense, especially getting around screens. But I think he's definitely starting material for the future. Has to improve that D though!
