Drummond, Morris, Harris, Stan Johnson, Reggie Jackson. Thats a very interesting starting line up. Wonder why Orlando does this though.
I have no idea why Orlando settled for such a s*** offer. Detroit looks great now going forward. Johnson/Harris/Drummond is a heck of a core 3-5 to build around. I'm not a huge Reggie Jackson/Caldwell-Pope fan but that's a heck of a start. Stan Van Gundy is working it right now.
Much better trade for det specialy considering jennings had achiles injury... But good thing that means more minutes for hezonja.
Must have really wanted to give Aaron Gordon the minutes post break. As someone posted in the FA thread, it could be a play for more money come the summer as they are both ostensibly expiring (Ilyasova being a team option). Also:
Hell of a move by Stan. Building something pretty good there in the motor city. Interesting on Orlando's end. If their play was with their eye towards this summer, still find it hard to believe that was the best package. I like Illy, but he's going to waste on a team like that.
I think Gordon, long-term, is going to be a good player, and there's not room for him and harris, as they're both 3/4s. I think harris may have reached his ceiling already, or at least they think so. still, not sure they just punt. I'm sure harris could have fetched a player at a position of need or one who fit better with their roster. as it stands, it just looks like a salary dump. if the lakers didn't have randle, I'd be annoyed they didn't swap hibbert's big expiring for harris, but I don't think he can play big minutes at sf on either end.
With the way 1st rounders were being thrown around today, how did Orlando not get one back for Harris? Not a good look for the Magic.
