You know what? I thought Byron Scott's coaching would be quite a bit further along by now. Here he is, an ex-Laker, getting handed his dream job. And what has he done so far? Compiled the two very WORST records in franchise history. Let's review that. Last year admittedly he did have some injury issues to deal with and not a great roster. So he ended up with 21 wins, which is terrible. But this year he's had an upgrade in the talent by a large margin, relatively excellent health comparatively, and he's on course for about 18 wins. Less wins than last year, and good enough to be the worst season in the Lakers history. So I take every STUPID opinion he states about his players with a gigantic truckload of salt because he's in no way the best qualified guy to do so.

Seriously with this guy's attitude towards the young guys, his treatment of them and the way he talks critically of them like this to the press there is absolutely NO WAY he should be their head coach next year. NO WAY. If the FO doesn't change that there should be hell to pay.

^^ I can't stand that ratio. Especially when Lou isn't shooting well (33%). Give the kid more minutes!!! Argh. He was playing really clutch down the stretch too.

DAR did pick up his 3rd foul early in the 1st half but all the more reason he could have been given more minutes in the 2nd half.

What is magical about the All Star break, Boron? Is that when you decide we have no chance for the playoffs? No can't be that. Is that when you magically get smarter and start using players and rotations that give us the best chance to compete and not look like hot garbage most of the time? No can't be that, you won't get any smarter. Is that when to try to save your sorry a** from being fired .... you will drop your ridiculous MO of blaming the young guys for everything, because you know they give you the best chance to win some game? Bingo!

That quote reminds me so much of what Kobe would say. I'm not worried about this kid at all, now if only BS would get out of his way.

I think he's more athletic than most people though; in one of the above clips of the video that I posted, he was being guarded by Elfrid Payne; a long, rangy defender who puts a lot of on ball pressure on the person he's defending...Russell went right around him and finished with a left handed layup. Payne is actually one of the better defenders and matches up physically well with Russell, so that's a positive sign of what we have seen so far this year. On top of that, he had another possession against A. Bradley, one of the better defenders at the 1 or 2 in the NBA, and he blew up him and finished with a layup.

He'll have the full arsenal offensively when he puts it all together. Couple that in a better system with his best asset which is his 'vision' on the court and when that's maximized, you're going to have a very special player. Ceiling is very high on Russell. I wouldn't trade him unless I'm getting a top 10 player in return.

We are so desperate to get a coach in here who can teach both sides of the ball. Come on FO. I want to see some real coaching and a real system on both ends. Is that so impossible? I want to see someone who can utilize our young players and put them in the best scenario to succeed.

I hope this isn't something that is going to linger if he continues to play on it. I want him starting and finishing games after all-star break.

Only one more game until the break though and he'll have about a week off.
