I don't know if you took it as if I was disagreeing with you. I wasn't I just thought the fat face thing was actually really funny. But the ex-Lakers sticking up for Scott and NEVER even insinuating the coaching staff could do something...ANYTHING better is asinine. They have won 9 games. They have NBA players on the squad. Bass, Williams, Kobe and Hibbert are all NBA veterans that should be able to win more than 9 games. Especially when you consider that our kids are actually better than the vets (except maybe Lou).
Toss in Russell's adamant "something needs to change" and I'm with you. These kids know they're not the culprit here. Byron, Mitch, Jim, and Jeanie have a lot of problems that need to be corrected.
Watched the highlights, and once again, there were some egregious fouls that were not being called for the young guy. Rubio going across his arms on a floater was probably the worst.
http://www.nba.com/lakers/releases/160204_skillsChallenge Good for him. There has been little going well for our young core, I'm very glad to see him get acknowledged like that
I don't know what being in the Skill Challenge means as far as his future in the league, but it feels awesome as a fan to have someone on our team in competitions in the All-Star game.
I think it's cool to have some representation in any All-Star events that aren't the actual game. We always have AS players, but we rarely have dunk contest guys, 3 point contest guys, skills challenge guys (have we ever with the skills challenge?), or rookie/sophomore game representatives. As the 2nd worst team in the league I didn't expect us to be represented in events each night, but we are, and that's pretty cool. Above all it has to be cool as heck to JC. The media don't really talk about him, it's mostly Russell and Randle, when he's been the most consistent player of the 3, so this is some nice recognition for his hard work. It's a little event, but it's still cool.
Crazy how we have people representing us in three separate events and yet they stiffed Julius and we're the 2nd worst team in the league... That's why I laugh when people question the actual talent on the team. It's there. It's just undeveloped, old, or misused.
Looked it up, Kobe was in it, but it was '06/'07, not just a few seasons ago, nearly a decade ago. Before that Fisher was the only other Laker in it, and after Kobe, none.
Beautiful game from Jordan tonight. Loved that alley oop highlight. Masterful shooting 9 for 14, 21 points plus 6 boards and 4 assists. Our guys were really balling in SA.
That alley-oop was NOICE. The kid just has his way offensively. Defensively he still needs a LOT of work, but offensively he's basically unstoppable.
