He should be plying for the d league or some obscure overseas team we all never heard of...a joke.

I really wanted Wes to have a great season but at this point he is who he is and that's not going to change.

To answer the OP's question: yes, he has. He's freaking terrible right now.

Can anything good be said about him? 40% on threes? 100% on FTs? I guess that's good, but my lord - can't do anything outside corner threes.

The guy's terrible. Other than being somewhat young and athletic, he sucks so bad. He better enjoy this year in LA because it should be his last.

My disappointment runs deep here. He's got all the tools and none of the brains to back it up. I wanted him here, I thought he would be a great fit, I had a vision of him being our next lock-down perimeter defender that gives Kobe a break and can hit a jumper or slash the lane... He's built PERFECTLY for it.

Unfortunately he's maybe the dimmest bulb on the team. Somehow nobody has instilled in him the necessary mentality to be the best perimeter defender he can be. With his size, length, and athleticism it should be damn near impossible to drive on him, but somehow he fouls the driver on every possession.

Coop was in the studio. Maybe he can finally talk to this idiot. If not, then it's going to be a long season watching this guy regress to the player he was in high school.

My favorite Wes moment from last night was when he got pissed off because we couldn't get a rebound, right after he jumped over two Lakers for the board, preventing them from grabbing it.

End this experiment please. Send him to the bench, release him, do something. Boozer/Wes are really huge detriments to this team on the court. I'm hoping for our head coach to have an epiphany and realize this.

Is it just me or am I the only one who hates the fact that when Wes makes his mistakes, he never really looks too upset by them? Like its just, "O my bad guys, I'll try harder next time"

He should be embarrassed and take some ownership. At least pat your chest and say its you that made the mistake.

The worst "Wes Moment" for me yesterday was when we were down 1 late in the fourth, and Lin was ready to initiate the offense and attack, Wes comes over to set a screen. What. The. #@*$. Lin tells him off and tries to attack, but wait, Wes is standing in the paint, confused as where he should stand around on offense. Kobe yells at him to go to the weak side, but nope.

Lin has to dribble to the other side and force up a shot because the clock already went all the way down.

Seriously. Does Byron not watch tape? I'm starting to heavily doubt Byron's coaching now. Starting Ellington or something.

Yep. I defended Booz for a game or two but he's sucking, and Wes has been bad from the get go. These two need to go to the bench. At some point Bryon needs to take note of this fact . . . sooner than later. It ain't working. 0-5 means it's broken. Play the guys with the hot hands. Insert Davis and Ellington at this point into the starting lineup. Doesn't have to be forever. But at least it's addressing the problem areas.

I can't believe this guy was the 4th overall pick

What was Minnesota thinking? He is a fringe NBA player, I don't think he's improved much at all since his rookie season, and he even took time this summer to train with Kobe. He is a lost cause at this point. I can't believe we decided to keep him and let Bazemore walk. I seriously cannot stand watching him play, he brings nothing to the team.

Nick Young can't return soon enough.

In the meantime Wesley needs to be benched permanently. Let Ellington get those minutes or move Kobe to the 3 or let X play himself into shape. Go get Ron back from China. Anything is better than our front court disaster haunting us at the 3 and the 4, especially the 3.

I was also someone who was ecstatic when we first signed him and I thought he would excel next to Kobe. I'm the first to admit that I was dead wrong.

I was hopeful, too. he seems to have the right attitude, and he certainly has the physical tools. he just has nothing between the ears. he's like shawn marion, if shawn marion had no idea how to play basketball.

When we got him I was ecstatic. I thought he could be Kobe's running mate. A lot of people from the CL crowd could attest to how happy I was...

I'm more disappointed than anybody in how bad he's looked so far this season. I thought he was okay not great last season. He had some built in arguments for why he wasn't great last year. Playing out of position, limited depth meant playing outside of his comfort zone, no given role by the idiot coach...

Now though there's really not that an great explanation. He's got a role: be a perimeter defender and hustler. He just consistently performs inadequately as a defender and tries to do things that aren't his strengths.

yep, I'd say the experiment is over. I wasn't down on him last year, but he's had his chance(s). time to look for someone who can play basketball.
