Every player that's playing right now besides Kobe is too high. Sure that sounds super biased, but I believe that 100%. I love Steph, but above Thomas, Kidd, Nash, Cousy, and Frazier already? What if he (*knock on wood*) never played another NBA game after today? No way you could make that claim.

Same goes for LeBron, Durant, and to a lesser extent Wade.

Yeah, Elgin was an elite of his time. He never gets recognized for the talent he was back then, always in shadows because of the C Bags dominance in the 60's.

And anybody would probably take Bird over Lebron all day, even Laker fans.

Curry and Paul are in the top 10? All time? Curry better than Isiah is so disrespectful. I'm not talking as a shooter, but career. Unfair to take 6 or 7 years and just assume it'll stay this way and discount what Isiah did. I do believe Curry can get there, but he's been an All Star two more times than me. Two!

ESPN's top 10 click baiting rankings for PG/SG/SF/PF/C

    Oops I misread the title.

Curry/Paul/Durant should not be sniffing that list right now.

    Just laughable.

Not sure if they really believe these lists to be true, or they need younger readers to care about it, so they include a bunch of current players to try to suck them in.

To be fair to their list, I think they nailed the SG position. I'm not a big D Wade fan, but he's been in the league long enough and accomplished enough to be firmly in the 4th spot, IMO.

    Lakers on the list:
    PG - 1
    SG - 2, 3
    SF - 5, 9

You know we'll have 4 centers in the top 10 and I expect Gasol to be on the PF list. That means we'll have 10 of the top 50.

    My take:

PG's - take #6 and #4 out, add Mark Jackson and Nate Archibald in somewhere... @#6 No Floppers Allowed...
SG's - take #8 out, put Curry in...better shooter, better passer.
    SF's - switch #2 to #1, slide #1 to 5, slide #4 to #10 bump everyone below up a notch...

If SuperClown makes the top 10 Centers...it would be insulting to all basketball fans worth their NBA salt.

    He won't.

Mikan, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Malone, Robinson, Kareem, Walton, Ewing, Hakeem. No way he cracks that group.

SG list does not have "Pistol" Pete Maravich. Interesting...

    Longevity matters.

And if you are mentioned in the same breath as Ali and Religious leaders, surely you must be top 10 lol

Magic Johnson responds to the top 10 PG list:

Although I definitely think Curry has the potential to be that high (and even higher), he's accomplished nowhere near enough to be there right now.

Magic is drunk on at least one account. Stockton IS better than Isiah.

I would pick Eternal John every time. Great defender, PnR specialist, great shooter, great passer.

I disagree. Isiah didn't have a great PF like Malone, but he has 2 rings. Rodman wasn't Rodman when Isiah had him. Stockton wasn't the offensive force Isiah was and wasn't fearless like him either.

We will have to disagree on that one.

I personally have Stockton over Isiah as well.

Where do you guys think Payton belongs?

Just outside the top 10, IMO. Mark Jackson is right by him.

The Gloves defense was AMAZING. First and only PG to win DPOY? I didn't see Cousy or Frazier, so I don't really know if they were better.

Personally, I'd put Payton above Nash and Kidd (I know that is a minority opinion, but that's how much I think of his game).

and BTW, I love Durant, but there is no way he should be higher than Pippen.

Then again I think Pippen is top 3 SF all time, so...

Curry, CP3 and Durant have no reason being on these lists right now.
