Yeah I mean everyone has different levels of pain tolerance and questioning the kid's toughness when we saw tonight how he tried to play through it and even last night initially. He's not soft by any means.

I don't understand what's serious and what's not in this thread. Look at the video. He rolled his ankle horribly and somehow exploded anyway and finished the play. AND REENTERED THE GAME. Then he left. He even tried to play the next game. He gave an all out effort. I commend him.

I don't like to tell sports stories, but I'll tell the story of the only time I checked out of a game voluntarily. I got a hip pointer in practice, tried to play in the game, got a doughnut pad to take some of the paint out of getting hit, but I couldn't help but wince every time someone hit me. It hurt really bad, and I was afraid I would fumble trying to protect. So I missed the second half. I think some people thought I was a wuss - and maybe I was - but it hurt, and I was pretty sure it would be a detriment to the team.

"Y'all ain't seen nothing yet," Russell said of his performance. "That's all I'm going to say. ... The world hasn't seen anything yet."

Is it true he once missed a week with dry cracked lips?

    :D wow.

You'd think I attacked this kid personally. Are you all the same dudes who wouldn't giggle a little bit at a kid who was overreacting at something? Say a kid falls and doinks his head and starts bawling or a kid scrapes his knee and starts crying uncontrollably. Is it not okay to laugh a bit when they cry too hard? That's literally all I did!

Now I'm a jerk for calling him on it? I was and am proud of him for getting up and trying to play on it last night. It was awesome that he tried to go last night. He's a kid prone to overreaction, that's pretty much been my only point.

Is it really that big a deal what I said? I'm not even saying he's a wuss. I'm saying he overreacted. Man. You'd think I called this kid out for being a bust or something.

Again: good on him for getting back out there and it was great seeing him try to go tonight.

I don't think anyone is taking anything this season too seriously, except for the "Fire Byron" chants

When you aren't winning, just about anything can become news

That's because from childhood the dads who cared about their sons' baseball career aspirations would stand them up and hit them with baseballs until they were used to it.

Okafor turned is ankle in his multiple street fights, and you what? He continued to fight. He didn't loaf through those physical altercations.

When he's healthy bench him. He doesn't deserve to be in the foxhole, Byron!

By going by he needs to put up 27 PPG to be a starter, he would be benching everyone except Steph Curry in the league (Going by just PGs).

Imagine for a second you've just completed your Freshman year of college. You're drafted 3rd overall by the most illustrious franchise in NBA history. You get to play next to your childhood idol, and you're essentially on an inside track to be the next Laker torch-bearer. You come off your best game of your career, in which you are literally unguardable. You nearly will the team to victory, but you injure yourself scoring. You try to reenter the game, but you cannot push off. You know it's the right thing to do, so you check out and allow your team a chance to win without being hindered by you. Now imagine your coach mocks that performance of yours - TWICE - PUBLICLY. What's wrong with you, Byron?
