Who cares seriously? You have no issue with him wasting a year of development for the young core? How is he doing us a favor by singling out the young guys and only picking on them instead of getting on vets for the same mistakes?
You are confused. He is not picking on young guys. He likes to pick on Young and guys. I mean, Lance and Brown have no problems cracking the starting five. *obviously joking with you
I didn't see a big problem with Randle's play in the 4th last night. Some defensive lapses, sure, but the whole team had them. Then when the run by Phoenix was getting serious he got us 2 offensive boards which led to a Bass score and foul. I'd have been pissed if I was pulled like he was too. If you want to point to a main problem with the lineup that cost us the huge lead in the 4th I'll give you a hint, he comes from Brazil. Every time that dude comes in the game he bricks threes, throws the ball away, the offense stagnates, and the other team gets fast break points because he can't keep up with NBA players on D. If Kobe misses any extended period of time this season, Huertas needs to released and we need to bring in a real backup guard.
Clarkson can play PG, that is clear, he was dishing some sweet assists last game, but he's a starter. If Kobe is healthy, Russ and JC should be starting next to him, and that leaves Lou as the backup PG, which he's not. We need a real one. If Kobe isn't healthy that means Lou or Russ has to start too, and for some reason B0ron can't seem how to figure out how to even split minutes between them. It's not like if Lou is gonna start at SG with Clarkson that Young can't play SG alongside Russ. We still do have Metta as a backup 3. My point is I guess, Huertas should never play. Ever. Not even when we're up 30 points apparently.
I'd still like to know .... did someone (Randle?) call someone an a-hole after the blowup during the Phoenix game? Doc alluded to it right before saying Russell has been talking in the press too now (about the "system" and debunking Boron's statement they played scared against OKC a couple weeks ago).
Randle was pulled from a game and before he sat down on the bench it looked like he may have mouthed a-hole Byrons way.
LOL.... well he is an a-hole. Front office should be happy they have an astute, smart kid in Randle in addition to the fact he could become a star in the league with a quality head coach and staff. Anyone think Byron will DNP him tonight? I don't think he has the balls or even he is not that stupid. This city hasn't had a good Lakers conflict story in years. Press and every other basketball mind in the world on line will know HE created the problem. This s*** should never have happened. At what point is it fair game for a high, star quality capable draft pick's agent (who is it?) to give Mitch a call and ask what the heck is going on? Especially since Scott doesn't communicate for s*** with Randle and Russell.
Oh yeah sure.... Byron Scott is going to figure that out. He's not a rocket scientist you know. But he talks a good game and can pull those halogens.
Russell and Randle should be starting, but if they're not: Clarkson (18)/ Russell (30) Lou (30)/Clarkson (18) Kobe (28)/ Young (20) Nance Jr. (20)/ Randle (28) Hibbert (28)/Black or Bass (20) Not so difficult.
Difficult is relative. When you have a coach who's IQ is struggling to beat a dolphin's, seemingly basic concepts become advanced trigonometry.
Screw Boron. http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2016/01/05/morning-shootaround-jan-5-2/#lakers No. 4: Scott: Randle has to ‘grow up’ — As a team, the Los Angeles Lakers’ average age is 27.5 years old. There are some veterans on the team — such as Roy Hibbert, Louis Williams, Kobe Bryant and others — but by and large the Lakers are a young bunch. Power forward Julius Randle falls into that category (he’s just 21, mind you) and is learning the ins and outs of the NBA game in his second season (and first full one overall). He was miffed the other night after being pulled from a game against the Phoenix Suns, something his coach, Byron Scott had a pointed criticism about. ESPN.com’s Baxter Holmes has more: After Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle was visibly upset at being taken out late in his team’s blowout win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, coach Byron Scott had a message for the team’s promising power forward. “He’s got to grow up,” Scott said Monday after the Lakers’ practice at their facility. “Simple as that.” Scott added, “I think the main thing I don’t like is, when you take him out of a game, how he acts sometimes. But again, I chalk it up to immaturity and just being inexperienced at this level because it’s going to happen again. I’m going to take him out of other games that he’s not going to like.” Scott singled Randle out for playing poor defense in the Lakers’ 97-77 rout of the Suns, the Lakers’ third straight win. Randle left without speaking to reporters after the game. “I don’t think there was defense on the court at all in the fourth quarter, and he singled me out,” Randle said Monday after practice. “I think it was a team thing.” The back-and-forth marked another bump in what has at times been a rocky relationship between Scott and Randle, the former Kentucky standout and No. 7 pick in the 2014 NBA draft. … Of all the players taken out late, Scott said Randle “took it probably the worst, and he’s going to have to learn from it.” Randle was consoled on the Lakers’ bench by veteran swingman Metta World Peace. “I was frustrated I wasn’t on the court. Simple,” said Randle, who finished with two points on 0-of-4 shooting in 16 minutes, the fewest he had played since Oct. 30. Randle defended his play by saying, “It wasn’t like I was 0-for-25 or something. I took four shots. I still had 12 rebounds, still had three assists. I took what the defense gave me.” Asked about Scott’s remark on his attitude, Randle said, “Regardless, basketball is an emotional sport. I’m going to feel some type of way about it. … I’m going to feel frustrated or happy or whatever it may be.” … Along with rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 draft, Randle was removed from the starting lineup Dec. 7 after starting the team’s first 20 games. Larry Nance Jr. was promoted to starter in place of Randle and has thrived lately. He is averaging 11.6 points and 10.4 rebounds in his past five games. … Nance said he is rooting for Randle as much as anyone. “I want him to be an All-Star,” Nance said. “I want everybody on this team to be the best they can be. So if I come out and he has a double-double, awesome. If he comes out and I have a double-double, awesome. Either way, I’m just trying to win. If he gives us the best chance to win, play him. If I give us the best chance to win, play me. I think, personally, we’re a pretty cool duo, like a tag team. Tag me out and tag him in, and let’s go.” Asked whether he is trying to regain his role as a starter, Randle said, “It’s not my decision. I don’t make those decisions.”
Damn right, Julius, stand up for yourself. He was going hard after boards, he had a couple nice dishes, one to an open Bass at the hoop after going up and faking the shot himself, and like he said, he barely shot. He wasn't being selfish, he had an off night offensively maybe (can't say he wouldn't have improved with more shots), and at worst he had a few defensive lapses. Doesn't deserve to be called out publicly by name by our idiot coach.
Boron ain't smart no way .... no how .... really.... no really .....he dun't got the "necessities" to be a head coach. I doubt he can even swim like a dolphin. Where's sirron? He will appreciate what I did there ....
