    Am I the only one that thinks Nance is a 4? He's effective below the 3 point line on both offense and defense. He just plays like a 4...limited skill but lots of hustle and does the little things.

    On the other hand Julius is clearly quicker than Nance, can handle the ball a lot better, and can attack of the dribble. Other than the fact that Nance has a better jump shot, Randle's game is more suited to play the 3 IMO.

    I'll eat crow on this guy. His jumper looked God awful in summer league, but the motor was there. It honestly looks like he developed that jumper overnight or is just in the midst of some crazy hot streak shooting mid-range J's. Either way he looks like he belongs now.

    If we had a half-way decent head coach, we'd find a way to use both at both spots, sort of interchangeably. There is no reason Randle and Nance couldn't play the two forward positions at the same time where they neither one was playing either position exclusively.

    The spacing on the floor would be terrible if either Nance or Randle played the 3 spot. I like what Nance is doing but I don't think his range is beyond 15-17 feet.

    I don't mind trying Nance/Randle interchangeably at 4/5 however. Both can rebound well and Randle can probably get the stronger front court player. We'd cover a lot of ground of defense but there won't be any shot blocking ^protection at the rim.

    You're not the only one eating crow. I don't know of a single fan that said at the moment Larry's name was announced "oh yeah! we made a great pick!"

    Most everybody, including the "experts", were shocked by this pick. Some of them said he had a good workout and some of them said he could be a steal, but nearly all of them said it was a reach for him at that spot.

    Rebounding like a mad man and making literally every shot certainly has helped his case.

    Efficient on offense without anything run for him and solid on defense, even though prone to rookie mistakes...defense and efficiency are exactly the things Randle sucks at.

    Hell, I think I said something around preseason that he had no business being on the court, and I didn't get the guaranteed pick used on him. I was as close to as critical of him as I am of A Brown. He couldn't shoot and he looked as lost out there as Brown to me, I didn't see his worth at all other than the leaping ability and hustle. Crow is served for many of us here and everywhere else. Now he's showing what he's got and that a 4 year college player can still be a smart pick. Took him a little time to adjust to the game, but he's adjusted now, and he belongs. Still don't think he's a starter, but he should absolutely be playing consistent minutes every game. Yet another great late 1st round pick by the Lakers.

    What I'm personally not seeing though, is why you guys think he can be a SF. He isn't really a great dribbler, he's not a 3 point shooter, I don't see a lot of SF skills in him. Plus why take him further out from the hoop where he gets those boards and put-backs? He seems absolutely like a typical PF to me. I think he and Randle are a very good PF duo, although like Larry himself said, I do think they could play together too.
