Adelman was my pick - and it was Mitch's as well. Even Jerry Buss was behind it . . . but of course Jimbo had the choice and went with the guy with DVD's.

Posted this in the DA thread, too, but it's appropriate here:

Lakers coach Byron Scott said that D'Angelo Russell only knows about 20 percent of the playbook.

"At times, he does know. Then at other times in the game, I think he has no clue," Scott said. "He’ll call a play for a high pick-and-roll and we’ll call it off. I’ll say, ‘No. Let’s do something that involves two or three passes.’" This might explain why Scott is so hesitant to let Russell close out games, but regardless of Scott's comments, Russell has improved a lot since the beginning of the season and it's possible that he finds himself back in the starting lineup after the new year.

I know there my team but I'm crossing my fingers that lakers lose by 40 and get embarrassed completely and hopefully it'll finally be the ticket to fire Scotts behind!! And merry Christmas everyone!! Lol

Byron is a clown. I'm glad D'Angelo is standing up to him. Not easy for a young kid like him to do. Everyone and their mama knows this offense is garbage. We need to nix it.

    Nobody doesn't like molten boron.

    Edit:
Perhaps I should clarify the reference.

Would have been good while it lasted but he would have missed quite a bit of time and going through what he did under the LA spotlight might not have been appealing. We have to knock this next coaching hire out of the park.

Wait, we are running plays out there? Sure don't look like it half the time.

Yea I'd call off the most successful play in basketball as well only to get 3-4 passes around the perimeter and an ISO with < 10s on the clock.

    Moron.

Ball movement comes from forcing the defense out of position, just passing the ball around doesn't accomplish that. How do you get the defense out of position? Hmm a high pick and roll stretching the defense and forcing the bigs out of the paint does that. How in the hell is this guy a coach?

Remember last year he said almost the same thing about J Lin when he was dominating the pick and roll. Whoa whoa slow down, you will dominate running my offense so I get the credit or you will get nothing.

How you hire a coach that has this view towards one of the most successful and difficult plays to guard is beyond me.

I'm beyond done with Boron. I didn't think they would fire him mid-season. But now I feel like it's a necessity. Either that or the FO needs to get some cajones and tell Boron to reinsert the kids in the starting lineup and play them 30 minutes a game. One or the other - NOW.

Like realdeal said - you can't keep losing every game AND not develop the kids. That's a complete failure on the coaching end. And a FO failure as well.

There's no way you can tell me that last year's roster is better than this year's. Yet we are on pace to have a WORSE record than last year somehow.

Point being, we aren't necessarily "not bad" but we definitely shouldn't be "this bad."

When I watch us out there on the floor, we look so confused and disorganized. There's almost no system. Even worse we aren't truly developing our young guys either by playing them less than 30 minutes and strapping them to the bench.

Byron Scott is the worst thing about this organization. I truly would be furious if we keep him another season but sadly I can see it happening.
