If what you say is true then WHY are your teams scared and/or in awe when they play elite teams BS (and I'm just gonna use your initials from now on because they are perfect)?

Who's job is it to prepare them mentally? Madsen's? Kobe? Their parents? YOUR JOB. They're are YOUR responsibility. You walked into this league and played with Magic, Worthy, Kareem, AC Green, Coop, Rambis, Pat Riley coaching etc (and as a "btw", you faded away when Magic retired). Kobe had Shaq, you, Van Excel, Eddie Jones, in other words, players. These guys got a broken down Kobe running on 3 cylinders, Hibbert who is near the bottom in player efficiency for centers this year (in no small part thanks to you) and a couple veteran chuckers playing in an insane Western conference and you have the nerve to question their manhood and blame almost every fallacy on maturity.

This guy never "mans up" and takes responsibility. Has BS once said "It's on me to get them prepared for this and I failed"? His lead by fear method is going to bite back hard on him. While this team has some definite improving to do, in both FAs and getting the young guys experience, there is no way this is a 4-23 team with a mediocre coach. No way. A mediocre coach would be good for 6-7 more wins this far into the season especially with the schedule we've had.

One could only wonder about what additional improvement over that ^^ a "good" coach would bring. Well said Alcindor.

Russell and Randle have had it with Byron's crap. As others mentioned props to Russell for not taking it any more. Beyond echoing with Randle "we weren't scared" he said it's hard to (compete or erase a deficit) with the "system" they have to run. One pic worth the 10,000 words.

Worthy likes his Lakers jobs, plural. There is no excuse for Magic. Eff him whenever he opens his mouth about the Lakers any more. He's not truthful. ..... Is that so hard to do when you're an icon and legend in the city, your buddy notwithstanding? Walk the Lakers (first) talk you're always putting out there.

Magic wasn't mincing any words when the coach was not one of his Showtime boys. He must've wrote a novel when it came to Mike D.

I want us to win the Christmas game but man... if we don't, I hope it's an absolute demolition. If that's what it takes for the FO to finally move on from this garbage and see their Uncle Fester of an owner laughing it up down in the seats while Mitch, Jeannie & Jim look by... then so be it.

Yeah couldn't blame any of us for worrying that if somehow we win the game that maybe it increases the chance of Scott coming back for a 3rd season. Just can't happen. I hope as it is with him logically being fired that we can still bring back Tarik Black. That he hasn't completely written us off. Guys like him are NOT easy to come by, with the skills and strength and coordination he has.

Mike was bad for that Lakers team, but he has great ideas and would make a perfect assistant coach (and he accepted that position few days ago, IIRC). Byron just can't coach. At all.

That's what peeves me the most about Magic and the whole Showtime gang is the double standard being given to Scott.

While D'Antoni and Brown especially had better squads the win/loss ratio is way out of hand here.

Brown coaches us to .591 and Magic says: "The Lakers are about winning championships,” Johnson said. “They’re not about waiting. … The Lakers don’t give people fair shakes. …Other organizations, they have time and patience because they’re not about winning the championships."

D'Antoni coaches us to .435 he says: "Happy days are here again! Mike D'Antoni resigns as the Lakers coach. I couldn't be happier!"

Scott is at .229 now and there hasn't been a single comment on his coaching from Magic but when he got the job:
'We chose the right coach.' What he does say now: "You've got to get somebody to help [Buss] out," "Laker fans need to have patience with our youth". It's all on Buss and our players.

And Scott himself, his pattern for changing his story to cover his own arse is easily traceable.

BS before losses in pre season: "Byron Scott compares D'Angelo Russell to Magic Johnson, thinks he can be a superstar"

After: "Let's make this very clear, Russell is not Magic Johnson.."

Does BS even realize his quotes are searchable?

Furk Showtime. There. I said it.

I'd rather have Red talking about our team. He, at least, was consistent.

Why do I listen to this guy's post game interviews, why? His explanation for Kobe's minutes, was as simple as we theorized in game time. Didn't play the 2nd for no reason at all. Then B0ron told Kobe he was gonna play him the 3rd and that will give him 24 mins, then bring him back at the 7-8 mark of the 4th. He's actually COUNTING minutes. Doesn't matter if that comes in huge 12 minute stretches, it's all just math in the end, STILL AT THE LIMIT. Someone save me from this man.

Yeah it's ridiculous how he's managing Kobe's minutes. 32 is too many for one and an old guy like him needs to be kept in a rhythm. Play him the first five. Take him out. Play him at the beginning of the second five minutes and then bring him back in with about 3 left. 28 total minutes.

Running out of adjectives for our coach. I want to be kind and supportive, but I can't how that's possible.

Even victories are in spite of him, not because of him.

It's hard for ex teammates that won championships together and possibly still good friends to talk bad about the other. That's probably why they defend bs so much or not give him the criticism he deserves
