Great all around game again from D'Angelo.

Career high seven assists, 7/13 shooting, 19 points, four boards, active hands defensively, kid is really coming into his own.

We are seeing glimpses of the superstar Russell is capable of becoming. Love this kid. Played with a little attitude and flavor tonight, must be getting more and more comfortable with NBA action.

The confidence is contagious for the whole team. And when Kobe is your biggest supporter, there's no need to fear anything (even a coach who tries to coach.)

Superb game again from Russell. 19 points, 7 assists? That'll get it done!

Getting that OSU Russ. :). Beautiful floor game tonight; probably his best floor game I've seen so far. Just so great and fun to watch...

Good to see Roy encouraging the kids and the more I think about it the more I think I'd prefer the Lakers re-sign him rather than sign Whiteside. As talented as Whiteside is you hear the rumblings about his attitude issues, inconsistency on the defensive end, lack of a work ethic, etc. Roy has his deficiencies, but he's a great teammate, still an elite rim protector, good in pick and pop, and just a team first guy.

It's almost like someone else told Byron to stop being a moron about Russell.

In December: 15.6 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and his TS% is up to .494 (highest month so far).

I am telling you guys: this kid - if he stays healthy - is going to be an all-star. Maybe a superstar one day, who knows. But the talent he has is absolutely amazing. He will be one of the most versatile PGs in the NBA in two years. Nice 'stache, BTW.

I know Roy looked great last night, but his overall performance this year makes me think he's not starting material on a great team. I'd like him back in a bench role or something, but D'Angelo needs a guy who can roll to the rim more effectively.

Back on topic, boy did the kid look great last night or what? Tremendous. The vision was there, the effort. This is a completely different kid from what we saw earlier in the process. No fear, not timid, picking his spots and finding open guys. This is the kid the Lakers saw as leading us into the new era.

Games like this are what we need to attract FAs. A guy like Batum looks at the game Kobe had tonight and thinks "I can kinda do that and these kids will improve. Maybe there's something brewing here after all."

One of the more exciting things I saw from D'Angelo last night was his enthusiasm. He nearly broke Larry Nance's back when he jumped on him after that monster dunk. The fact that this kid can still have that type of positive attitude despite all the crap he's been through this year really speaks to his mental toughness. It's especially great considering just two years ago we had an all star center who couldn't handle the fire in LA for one season before he had to bolt to a Houston team that is now unraveling before our eyes.
