At this point only GS, SAS, and CLE look capable of winning the ship. Also for first time time in a while, top 8 in the east is looking a little better record wise than the west (sans GS).
17th 5*5 in NBA history . This game showed the importance of NBA2Klay for GS . This is way more difficult for them when the opponent D only has to focus on Curry on and off the ball . Fortunately for them , Green has big cojones because the rest of their players were SCARED to shoot . As for the C-bags , if they could get a real franchise player to build around under Stevens , we would cry ...
AND JAMAL TINSLEY! and I'm still not as bullish on boston's future as everyone else. they have exactly zero stars in the making on the squad, and I don't think they'll be able to trade any combination of those players or their stockpile of mid to late first round picks for a superstar. so, stevens will probably just keep running a college-ish system with college-aged players and finish 7th in the east. I actually think the lakers--despite their putrid record and the likelihood of not having a pick this summer--are in much better shape. simply because randle and Russell look like they could each become something. boston's barely got a Clarkson (avery Bradley?).
^^^^ the 2016 pick from the Nets isn't what I called a mid to late pick ... 2017 and 2018 ones may be very good too . Sure we have more talent but our FO and coach situations suck ... which is something VERY problematic going forward The only thing which may save us is Foston would have trouble to attract the best FAs ... not really a destination
I don't see Boston being ahead of us. I said it elsewhere, but they're in a very similar situation to us. We have the makings of a great young team with no coach. They have a great coach with absolutely no talent. I've heard finding a great coach is the hardest thing to do in the NBA, but I think finding talent is much much harder. I think if anyone is ahead it's us. A good coach this summer of which there are few solid options (Luke!) and we're gravy. Boston is going to have a heck of a time finding talent to go with Stevens.
Bucks are playing some very good D and hustling, they look like they want this one. Still, GS is dangerous to the last minute when only down single digits.
Warriors are tired and injured (no Barnes, Klay). They could lose this one. Edit: I think Klay's playing.
No team in NBA history has ever gone 7-0 on a road trip. That stat is crazy to me considering the great teams in history. I guess it's really hard to do though, and we are seeing that even with this great GS team.
Yeah Warriors look gassed and the Bucks have length at every position to cause fits. Streak ends tonight, still an impressive feat nonetheless.
