Beast. Loved how he was going after every board, and not shooting cute double pump layups. He was going up to DUNK. Loved it.
I still can't believe he fell to 7 when before the season and even during he was too 3 from what I kept hearing. I was ecstatic when he fell to us, on the edge of my seat as Boston picked. I guess sometimes teams try to get to clever and don't take the best talent. Our gain, their loss.
I'm really hoping he bottles this performance and builds off of it. He can still get so much better, but when he controls the glass we look like a different team. I love this kid and I think of the three he's got the most potential to "lead" us into the future.
Randle definitely has that killer attitude, he wants to annihilate. JC gets fired up from time to time but he's a cooler cat. Russell is as cool as a mountain lake. They really do complement eachother nicely. The 3 Musketeers? The 3 Amigos?
I just loved the raw emotion and fire he played with tonight. The pass Lou made to Randle late in the game when he caught it and went straight up for the dunk. When he came down after scoring he was screaming and flexing. I just love the dog type attitude and competitiveness he plays with at times.
This is what I want from the kid. Non stop motor. Don't complain about touches. Don't ball watch. Rip the ball from the rim and throw it down with authority.
um, he finished a play with his right hand. I believe that's actually an nba first for him. combine that with Russell starting to realize that he can get shots at the rim, and there's some real progress happening.
Exactly. The sequence where Russell air balled the 3 and then got two steals hit a 3 and got an assist was great to see. A lot of people would air ball a shot in front of millions and go into a shell. Unfortunately, next game will probably have Kobe shooting 5-25 and all the kids (minus Clarkson) will be left standing and watching.
It is going to be crazy to watch Julius expand his game and I think he is beginning to realize that no one can actually stop him. He needs to keep that motor running. I agree with realdeal and have pretty much always felt like he was the guy who could break out hardest of your young core. His combination of size, strength and agility is just so rare. Couple that with his strong desire and will and I think he is going to have a good chance to be a dominant type of player. Keep it going young man.
The key to me is that Clarkson and Russell are just cooler cats. They're more efficient, but they're going to take less chances too. Randle's hero is Kobe and he's got a lot of that in him where he's going to sometimes take huge risks. The other two will be more inclined to just get to their spots and take shots they know they'll make which is a great way for the three of them to operate. Julius plays with his heart out and that's going to be sensational over time. Last night was the first time I've seen him this aggressive since way back at home against Dallas.
Agreed realdeal. Clarkson and Russell are the cool cats while Randle has that fire that pours out. It's a GREAT combination. After being so bummed at the FO for choosing Russell over Okafor on draft day, I have completely turned around. I think Russell is a much better complement to Julius who needs the ball, not competition on the block. Randle has that ultimate alpha mentality. I think he just had some growing pains for a while there as will happen with rooks. He'll have ups and downs. But yeah, I just see that IT quality coming through in him more often than not. He has the charisma and fire that draw you in.
I loved the extra effort, the physicality, and the hustle. I just wish Julius would stop shooting those jumpers. He can't shoot them right now. Better to swing the ball or make an extra pass because that's just not his game right now. Defense has definitely improved. He's like a freight train out on the break. He can be scary good. He's still so raw and you know with that work ethic he'll get better and better. I don't think that he'll be a franchise player I think that'll be D'Angelo, but I fully believe he's gonna be a great second and third option. Someone who'll be one of the best power forwards in basketball in 2-3 years. He is a physical specimen man. In the open court he's a nightmare. The way he attacks the glass. Can take it coast to coast. He has that nice little turnaround as well along with obviously his ability to attack off the dribble. You can tell these three young guys are starting to get a nice chemistry going. It's gonna be great continuing to watch these guys mature and develop. You can see the flashes. The spectacular plays. How explosive and dynamic they can be out in the open court. How they play off each other. The energy. The athleticism. I don't even think we need Ben Simmons to be honest with you. I'd love to get him because he has a chance to be a special player, but as is I think this is a young core that can eventually be a championship level one.
