    Byron wtf
Kobe is no longer the best player on this team. In fact he's at best the 5th best player on the team. So Kobe gets to do what he wants, which is to shoot 3 pointers with impunity, resulting in runouts, but everyone else gets a short leash? Clarkson and Russel get called out for defensive mistakes, but the vets defense outside of Hibbert and MWP has been atrocious at best?

    That makes complete sense.
    What a Boron.

Byron, this is how you lose your team. Blaming them instead of teaching, allowing some to do whatever they want and not hold them accountable, call players out by name, etc. This fake tough guy act might have been how you learn back in the day but your methods are ancient and this is a different time. You can't tell them to man up, play harder or else. Tell them what they are doing wrong and how they can fix it, praise them for what they did right instead of back handed comments.

The entire league and media are laughing at us, and our young core's development is being stunted, and the FO doesn't think Byron needs to go NOW? If we look bad to the league, and the media can't fathom the things being said and going on here, how do you think we look to free agents? Byron isn't just costing us wins and hampering the young guys, he's hurting the Laker brand the FO holds so dear and thinks will carry us into the future. Wake up, fire this clown, start saving the franchise.

Why does the front office continue to allow him to speak to the media? If you're Mitch, stop his press conferences and pick up the fines. It's worth it, because right now he's making the Lakers the biggest laughing stock in the league every time he opens his mouth.. and then he goes out on the court, crosses his arms and pisses all over this storied franchise for 48 minutes.

Saying you're sick of the way things are going, your leash is going to be shorter, new rotations, accountability, etc. and then turning around and saying Kobe (often the primary culprit) can go out there and do whatever the f*** he wants -- shoot as much as he wants for as many minutes as he wants...seriously?! Byron, go f*** yourself!

One of the big selling points with Scott was his relationship with Kobe and he'd be able to communicate with him because Kobe respected him and the general thought was that'd help keep Kobe accountable and in check. Little did we know Scott brought his hair tie and knee pads with him upon being hired. What a joke.

I don't understand Byron's insistence on playing Vets.

Vets are usually on the floor because they "know how to win". The only ones who've shown that somewhat consistently have been MWP, Hibbert, and surprisingly, Nick Young.

If we're going to be a crap team, at least put the young players out there and let them play.

The problem with this idiot is there is not offensive system, or defensive system... So basically, he don't know how to coach.

Da hell does this "trust" issue even mean? Oh, that's right, they don't trust you. Because you are an imbecile.

If he pulls DAR from the game for a mistake...

Dammit. This is what being a fan of any other franchise in the NBA feels like.

Defense is all about " manning up "

Offense is all about " trusting each other"

Every one of us could be a NBA coach !

Seems like "man up" is his go to for interviews this season. Last season it was "grit".

On top of that, he thinks that team is doing a poor job in transition defense (my guess is he is referring to Clarkson and Russell) not getting back. Yet, he doesn't realize that teams are trying to take advantage of Kobe's crappy 3 pointers by leaking his defender out, giving the opponent an opportunity to get out in transition. So basically he's calling out the team (again my guess is mostly Clarkson and Russell) to cover up Kobe's mistakes and saying Kobe do whatever you want for 38 minutes. Anybody with a little bit of common sense would try to limit transition opportunities for the opponent, especially given the team's struggles in transition defense - then again, we just suck at defense and offense in general - instead of giving the opponent more chances.

We all love what Kobe has done for us over the years, but Byron sounds ridiculous when he essentially says Kobe has earned the "privilege" to not play within the confines of the team. How on earth do you expect your young players to develop any positive habits, when you don't hold your team leader accountable for those exact same standards? Absolutely maddening. It's almost as if this guy thinks he's playing mind games in the media like Phil used to do, but doesn't realize that everything coming out of his mouth makes him sound like Simple Jack.
