I don't agree with your conclusion that he's a Byron fanboy because I'm not sure such a thing exists. :D

I do agree that he's coming off as "pro" Byron but I think he's suffering from the same thing I am on this site at times. He's trying to provide prospective and that this season doesn't just fall on Byron's head. There's also plenty of blame in the FO and plenty of blame on Kobe and plenty of blame on the young kids... I mean there's a lot of blame to go around but most fans just want to point at Byron. It's impossible to try to rationalize the amount of hatred Byron is getting right now and I'm okay with that. He deserves a lot. Pincus is just trying to do something that's really difficult and he's struggling with it: show that there's more concerns than just a bad coach.

As for his "I don't know if Byron is a bad coach" thing: I can't rationalize that. I have no idea how you can come to that conclusion at this juncture. He's clearly a bad coach. Bad rotations, bad communication, lack of game plan, lack of accountability, etc etc etc I mean what else does it take to prove he's a bad coach? I mean sure he hasn't lost the locker room yet like Brown or D'Antoni but is that really the metric we're going to start judging our coaches by?...

This guy is right, but he's also a horrible idiot of a media personality. Followed him briefly but man he's terrible.

Still, broken clocks and all that.

    Taken from the WMC thread.

Blame for the young kids? They're young kids, it's their job to learn, improve and be coached/taught. Their piece of the blame pie is tiny, and mostly leads back to B0ron. The FO? I only really blame them for hiring B0ron, as their personnel moves have been pretty good with what they've had to work with. Kobe, absolutely gets blame, he's playing stupid, but half that blame goes to B0ron too for allowing and encouraging it. So no matter how you slice it, all roads lead back to B0ron. He is the main source of this disaster, the sewage line that burst and is poisoning the entire city's water supply.

Hindsight is 20/20, right. There was plenty of evidence of who and how Byron coached; he had plenty of history to look back on to make a decision with absolutely certainty. The Front Office botched another coaching hire and some fans knew this when Byron was hired, and there's no excuse in the world that you can justify or give me that will make think otherwise. It all starts with the Front Office, IMO.

    1. Man you know I hate Ben Rosales. The guy is intelligent, but he thinks he's more intelligent than he actually is.

    2. I'm not disagreeing that much of this is Byron's fault. I've been on record saying he's awful and he needs to go.

    3. Of course you need to blame the kids their share. They need to learn from their mistakes and improve. Randle needs a jumper. Russell needs to make better decisions. Clarkson... nah he's pretty good. The point is they're less ready than we thought they were. We should have seen that in Summer League, but it's worse than we thought. Is that "blame"? It's just the truth. Maybe "blame" is the wrong word, but you have to recognize how far away they are from being great and realize that's a bigger hindrance to our record than we want to admit.

    4. The FO didn't just hire Byron, they're instilling confidence in him. It's their job to keep him in check. You want more minutes from the young players? Mitch and Jim and Jeanie should just TELL Byron to do that. They are his bosses, they can make him do that if they want to. They're enabling this to happen. Not to mention this roster with 14 forwards and only 3 guards who can control an offense, one of whom doesn't play. That roster was built by Mitch and Jim so we're left with no rim protector off the bench (I love Tarik, but he's not really a rim protector) and four guys that might be power forwards.

    5. Kobe is playing stupidly and yes that's on Byron, but it's also on him to try harder to be part of the solution. I'm not going to blame Byron for Kobe taking 7 threes a game. I'm going to blame Kobe for not figuring out he won't make it. We all know the kind of intelligent ball player he is. Why is he making so many stupid decisions? That's not on Byron, that's on Kobe. Sure we can say "just sit him!" but that's so much easier said than done when you're talking about maybe the greatest Laker of all time. Imagine if Jordan played those last Wizards seasons on the Bulls. You think the Bulls would be quick to sit him down? Of course not, it's a touchy subject.

Kobe and Byron are by far the biggest impediments to our success right now, but there's also other problems. That was my only point.

Good news is that the season is done. We'll be awful. Kobe will shot 35%, Byron will coach us to 20 wins, and he'll probably run Kobe into the ground. I want to see a heavy dose of Clarkson, Randle, Russell, and Brown.

I'm not as excited about Brown... I'd like to see more Nance though! And some Tarik at some point! And hopefully Hibbert sticks around!

those guys earned the right to finish that game when they cut the lead down to 5...they were passing the ball around and playing hard on D...they were playing for each other for once...

what does Byron do? he puts a cold Kobe in the game with less than 3mins to go

what does cold Kobe do? jack up a 3 the moment he touches the ball

the deficit went from 5 to 10 in like 30secs

what does Byron do Portland has the game in hand with about a minute to go? pulls Kobe so he can get his applause

that tweet is correct..Kobe DOES have a son to go with those beautiful daughters...his name is Byron

This s.o.b. needs a blanket party with everyone on roster except Kobe who's being pandered to by Byron, getting their planted power licks in, to hold him accountable for his actions. I hate this guy now. He's jerking with our entire future.

Unless you're Kobe Bryant, then you can do as much boneheaded stuff as you want.

The kids will have plenty of time to play. We'll get a chance to accurately assess what we have throughout the season, see improvements in our core, and go from there. If you're into watching this team win games, we won't win many; if you're interested in watching young kids develop, improve, and get better, the season might be more interesting for you; it's all about adjusting our expectation level.

No it's the kids I want to see coached and nurtured by by someone who isn't screwing up their development. I could not have imagined Boron would be this bad. He's right there, if not worse than both Brown and D'antoni. Certainly worse with offense than "Dan" and just as bad with running his mouth saying stupid things about our players that are not warranted.

Sure and Curry and Thompson too without Steve Nash showing them even finer points to the game. At this point Walton would be a godsend after seeing what it all is "supposed" to look like. Same thing with Ettore Messina doing his internship on the Spurs after his own legendary Euro run but he's probably their next coach.
