Ugh. Like I was saying in the free agency thread, he needs to go if we want to attract decent players. One more reason added to the giant list. If he's not fired in-season, then he should be immediately after. It's not enough that he's gone, we need to also have another coach in place for free agency. We had no coach in place for free agency last offseason and I think it hurt us for sure.

Its about not playing a 6'7 undersized PF at C and telling him to go get rebounds and contest shots while having Tarik Black warm Russell's seat.

I was thinking, if we don't go the new hire route but with Thibs or another established coach then we're probably going to have to offer some sort of FO stake, ensuring him job security. Because even if we wait till season's end, with our revolving door of coaches and poor closing tactics within the FO, I don't see any of them considering us otherwise.

Funny...that's the very thing Phil wanted. Had we just given the greatest coach of all time what he wanted (instead of pulling a fast one on him and embarrassing the man that took you to the promise land time and time again) we wouldn't be in this mess. I think we'd still be looking for another coach this summer, because he'd likely ride out with Kobe, but it would have been a much more attractive scenario for available coaching candidates.

I'll tell you what's frustrating me most about this season. I absolutely expected and stated that there was going to be a big learning curve this year because of starting three young guns, and because we have so few players on the roster who have ever played together before.

What I did NOT expect is that the coach would also be demonstrating such a large learning curve as well. How the hell do you not understand your personnel, Byron? Why the continued experiment with Bass at backup center? It hasn't WORKED. Why all of the other ridiculous lineups you are putting out there? It's like this guy has never coached before. I'm pretty fed up with it. It isn't brain surgery.

So... now he says that he doesn't expect to play either Tarik or Sacre for the next couple of weeks or so, unless we get severely out-rebounded again?

I don't even care about Tarik or Sacre. How can you say such a thing as a coach, a teacher basically? What kind of motivation does that provide?

P.S. Also, WTF made you think there was some improvement that is now possible to not try to find a solution to our rebounding woes? Are you blind?

As a backup center Tarik Black is so much better than Bass. Maybe if Byron played Bass at his actual position it would help. I thought we were finished with this playing guys out of position BS when we dumped D'antoni. How naive of me.

It feels like Byron doesn't get what small ball is. Everyone keeps telling him small and sleek is the way of the NBA so he's just like oh okay, I'll put a PF at C like Golden State does!

You're on to something Real. Maybe he's confused and think we have Draymond, not Bass! OMG that has to be it right, cause they look like twins!

Its exactly this. We're not playing small ball, we're just playing small.

    What are adjustments?
Let's get out rebounded for the next 10 games. Not sure if it's on the players or coaching scheme but I like the effort we put into rebounding against Detroit, all 5 starters had at least 5 Rebs each. Then against Phoenix we let the shortest dude on the court grab 10. One step forward, one step back.

Of course he won't. That would require him to be a somewhat competent coach and actually make adjustments.

I thought it was a done deal a week ago to be able to delete "Free Tarik Black" from my signature. Mensa Scott finally was playing him regularly and he was doing well. DUH!!

But no, now he is back to this maddening crap with running Bass at the backup 5. SMH!!! Back in the sig it goes. What a contrarian, wrong headed s.o.b. he is as a coach. Just sucking the life out of certain players and certainly the performance of the team. :Tabarnak:

Here we go again as well with the big proclamation he's set for awhile with his idiocy, just like he did with the Bass / Kelly 10-15 game announcement.... only to can it after the next game. Black gives him a better chance to win the damn game to try to save his sorry a** from being canned, and Black is one of the young guys that worked his butt off with Randle and Clarkson and Russell in the gym all summer. We have him under contract at fabulous bang for the buck dollars and he's hopefully in our future plans. Not Brandon Bass for crissakes! He has a player option this summer and will likely exercise it just to get away from this team and you Byron, you crazy, hard headed a-hole!!! :PauExplode:

I seriously don't know if I can tune in for games knowing beforehand that Black won't play and I will have to suffer through Bass at the 5 with Huertas and Lou. I watch the Lakers for entertainment, for fun, as an escape for 2 1/2 hours from real life. Boron is killing that, I'm genuinely disgusted by him and don't feel like tuning in.
