Maybe we should make interviewing former players part of our next coach selection process. If you ask the player what kind of offense/defensive sets are being run and he says none, you skip that coach and keep looking.

Sounds to me like we need a Kobe death stare.

We would think we could find a coach able to turn the LA Lakers into the Sixers of the western conference ?

Not much of an article from Bresnahan actually .... pertaining to this headline grabber below:

Lakers' Kobe Bryant offers Coach Byron Scott consoling, and counsel

    http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-report-20151115-story.html

But this quote from Byron below once again dumping on and putting blame on the young guys. No accountability from himself of course with the poor strategy for key plays closing out games, bad lineups too often in 2nd half or 1st half, and the "veterans" like Lew and Kobe jacking up bad contested shots, rather than letting better ones be created by point guards like DAR and Huertas and Clarkson as well if he's actually allowed to be in the game in those moments.

"We obviously are keeping ourselves in the game. We have an opportunity to win toward the end, the last two or three minutes, and then our youth kind of shows up at times," he said. "But that's how they've got to get some experience. You've got to fall down every now and then and you've got to get back up."

Byron is garbage. He played the vets for most of the second half that dug themselves into deficit with bad shots and bad defense, the put the kids in with 4-5 mins left and blame them. GG!

This is so disturbing on several levels. First, he takes no accountability for his actions and the plays (or lack there of) he draws up. Second can someone be so stupid they don't see that it's Kobe, Artest, Lou, etc. hoisting up the bad "rookie" shots. It's your youngsters that are actually getting you into and keeping you in games. Third, you can't have Brandon Bass playing center to close out games because he's an undersized pf, let alone a center. I like Bass too.

Keep talking Byron. You may be able to fool the casual Laker fan that sees "Byron Scott: 80's Laker Legend" and thinks you are a Godsend. But for those of us who actually pay attention to these games night in and night out (which I'm getting close to not doing anymore if he remains at the reigns), we see right through the fact that you are a coward and a little b**** that can't stand up to Kobego, then throws children under the buss...no pun intended.

Something that also bothered me in the last game was Scott taking Kobe out with a minute to go, and bringing in Nance, who he had banished to the bench in the 2nd half, why? Why not bring Williams in , why embarrass Nance in that situation?

What fans are you referencing? I think 99% of fans hate Scott right now.

He wanted Kobe to get a little audience acknowledgement for likely his last time in that arena. Radio guys even commented on it.

Pincus tweets are interesting to read. Said this season is about Scott, development of young players, and Kobe selling tickets.

I think we are spoiled here on Lakersball. The "average" Laker fan doesn't have anywhere close to the grasp of this team and its problems as the posters on this board. Just at my work alone there are a few "Laker fans" that tend to wake up and watch only when the Lakers are in the 2nd round of the playoffs and just remember Byron being a sg during Showtime. They assume he's a good coach because he was on a team they liked. There are a lot of fans who think he's a good coach because he was a good player on a good team.

Savory is right. There are a few people I know that calls themselves real Laker fans yet we talk about this and I bring up how bad Scott is, they are shocked and don't believe me.

Yeah, it's youth that's to blame for the losses. Interesting take, especially since Russell has barely played in any of the fourth quarters, you keep cutting down Clarkson's minutes as well and you don't seem to run any plays for Randle. Meanwhile Kobe and Lou get to chuck away down the stretch throwing up low percentage garbage. Byron's out of his freaking mind.

Well we have a ready made excuse for when we fire him. We can just say he didn't "man up" to his mistakes and it will be the truth. This guy is delusional.
