Yeah and that's the thing for me. Defensively he's already really starting to get it and be in tune. His offense will come. As he gets stronger and also gets used to the three point line in the NBA he'll start to make those shots more consistently. That and the tear drop. If he does that he can become a big time scorer because he has pretty much everything else. Knows how to use screen and rolls. Can pass out of them, shoot, or attack. Has a nice mid range game. He's been able to drive to the basket just not been able to finish as consistently as you'd like, but that will come when he adds core strength.

You're joking right? Am I being punked??

First off I never said this; "You said "when you pick a guy #2 I don't think you should be satisfied with an All Star". You're quoting the wrong person.

Second of all you're saying "#2 picks are usually not nearly as special." So let's look at some of the #3-5 picks from 2008-10
2008: O.J. Mayo, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love
2009: James Harden, Tyreke Evans, Ricky Rubio
2010: Derrick Favors, Wesley Johnson, DeMarcus Cousins

So is it that the #2 player isn't as good as #1 or the team can't draft well and passed on good players that landed in the 3-5 spot.

The 2015 draft is also regarded as the strongest in a decade, everyone knows the draft classes from 11-14 were VERY thin, which resulted in the #1 consensus player throughout the year going #3.

Like I said, I believe in the Lakers ability to draft.

Yup mixed you up with Lakers2015 on that quote, my bad.

Yes I said #2 picks are not nearly as special (as #1 picks which you left out) which is true. Compare the #2s of the last 8 years I posted to the #1s.

    2015
    1. Townsend 2. Russell
    2014
    1.Wiggins 2. Parker
    2013
    1. Bennett 2. Oladipo
    2012
    1. A Davis. Gilchrist
    2011
    1. K Irving. 2. D Williams
    2010
    1. J Wall. 2. E Turner
    2009
    1. B Griffin 2. H Thabeet
    2008
    1. D Rose 2. M Beasley

Showing examples of other picks besides #2s is irrelevant to my point. Good picks get past on all the time at much high positions in drafts. I think we have done alright in our picks, Randle @#7 was great. My point is just that there has been a big drop off from #1 to #2 if you look at the last 8 years. And I remember a lot more hype for the '14 draft then the '15.

All I'm saying is that the talent doesn't drop off from #1 to #2, it's the teams that make the wrong choice.

I'm sorry to say this but I can't wait for this season to be over I can't stand losing and ball chucking from Kobe and Lou. Russell if given the ball more in his hands was good in the short amount of time

I'll say it again, I think he's getting better every game. More minutes, please!

That couldn't have been a foul. Hibbert was still on his feet afterwards.

Got in for the final 3 minutes. Looked confident and hit that off-balance shot.

I don't see a lot more minutes in his immediate future. We've got a top 3 draft pick to secure.

DAR makes the offense run so much smoother. He's like a fine lubricant.

Seriously, when he checked in in the fourth, the ball started moving and he was making plays. Before that without him, ISO chuckathon ala Kobe, Lou and Nick.

I wonder if the lakers are just trying to do right by lou Williams right now. it's not good to alienate a FA signing a few games into the season. it's the only explanation I can think of for the minutes during the game where they run him at point. because that's not his game, and it's never been his game.

That's been happening and what some simply don't understand. We get cleaner higher percentage looks when he's in the game and the offense lots much better when he's in the game

Sure, and I hoe everyone does . A lot of what he does may not end up in the boxscore or is it readily apparent during the game...

I've been wondering this too. Same thing happens if someone post an article that's a tweet.
