I've missed bits and pieces of the season so far, but I've watched most of it.

Has he actually completed a single drive during the regular season in the half court that resulted in a layup? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

Russell may not be getting into the paint like we want. That'll come with time.

However his midrange jumper is LIGHTS OUT. I mean at 19 years old he's putting those jumpers in at will. Imagine how much better his shooting is going to get overall.....

i can't even think of a time that he got deep enough to draw the basket-protecting big and allow for a dump off (clarkson does this a fair amount). like i said, that's not about ability.

maybe he's playing the long game: establishing the midrange to open up the drive? but you better be automatic with that shot if that's the case.

While I agree that his lack of dribble penetration isn't helping others, I don't think that's the main issue. I think it's our offense and the personnel. All of our passes seem to go around the perimeter other then the occasional pass to hibbert in the low post who ends up kicking it back out anyway most of the times. No one is really cutting or anything.

Also, none of our starters are catch and shoot players or slashers. Jordan clarkson is probably the best at both but even he prefers to get the ball, use a screen, and then pull up for mid range shot or lay up. Randle likes to attack from top of the key and create his own shot. Kobe likes to do his own thing. And Hibbert's best offensive skill is shooting free throws.

So a combination of lack of offensive movement and passing and the other players' offensive tendencies does not make it easy for Russell to create for others and get assists.

Speaking of hibbert's FTs, his 12-15ft jumper has been so money. Why are we not picknpopping with he and Russell? Why no pnr with nance's athleticism going to the basket? Russell's midrange jumper is automatic when he's shooting in rhythm and with confidence, so the defender can't go under the screen, leaving the roll or pop guy open.

I think he's just more comfortable taking the jumper. He's afraid of failure or contact around the rim, but his mid-range is generally a good shot. I can remember one instance in the Brooklyn game of him challenging Brook Lopez where he was either blocked or missed the shot. He followed it though and was fouled in the act so he got free throws from it.

I think it is RUSSELL'S main issue, not the offense's main issue. The offense's main issue is that it doesn't fit our team at all. That's on Byron.

I don't know. Maybe those type of plays aren't gritty or old school enough?

People can't catch his passes. To quote Byron Scott "they weren't ready"

I hate Byron Scott. Again not playing dlo in the 4th quarter. How the %$## is he supposed to develop if he's constantly on the pine

#2 pick in the draft, and we barely play him 20 minutes. GOOD JOB COACH!

Every time he misses a shot or has a turnover, Byron subtracts 2 minutes of 4th quarter playing time. 4 missed shots and 2 turnovers = 0 minutes!

    21 minutes, 0 in the 4th.

We're talking about the #2 overall pick.

    Byron Scott HAS to go.
