 Enjoy those luxury taxes Dan. So delicious if something goes wrong again and no ring for the King or Gilbert.

The thing that sucks is that, in essence, the lakers are footing his bill, thanks to the cba. Any NBA team that makes money is going to be giving a cut to this billionaire with no business sense and a whiny attitude.

Does Cleveland not know about this thing called "luxury tax"?

Apparently they don't apply to Cleveland and they can sign anyone and everyone they want.

Gilbert is one of the richest people in america, right? I guess he won't even notice the tax bill, what he will notice, is the empty trophy case though :giggle: (i better be right).

I am soooo rooting for them to lose. It's irrational how much distaste I have for this team from owner through scrubs like Delavedova or whatever his name is to the chosen one. I hope this ship sinks in spectacular fashion and they don't even make it to the finals, that would be a joy to watch.

BTW - yeah Gilbert won't suffer from the additional tax considering how rich he is, but it's very satisfying to see him get kicked in the butt by rule changes he helped implement to hurt the Lakers.

Im with You all the way. One thing though, they will make the Finals, eeeeeeeasily. Let's just hope that the West team have some energy left... or the Cavs are injured again <whistling> ;).

I still remember how we all sided with Dan after the "decision" LOL. Now... :giggle:

Close. Brooklyn Nets from 2013-14 beat them. $90M in taxes for that squad.

Giving an injury prone Shumpert 40 millions may be a worst deal ...

The Cavs, in the East, will be in the Finals again. And if they're healthy, they will win, they are stacked and it will be a second season of gelling together. That said, that's a big "if" on their being healthy. Varejao, Irving, Love, and Shumpert are ALWAYS injured at some point in a season, always. I'm not rooting for injuries, but I sure don't want them to win it all, so I guess I sort of am..

They have lots of depth, certainly can't say the owner didn't step up.

I'm already hearing built in excuses for this team on ESPN today.

"Well, yeah, they should be favored to win it all, but the highest payroll doesn't mean the best team"

"They're going in with injuries, LeBron's back, blah blah blah"

Please. If they don't win it all it's a colossal failure. I'm not saying it's a failure all on LeBron, it's a failure as a team and franchise. You add Mo Williams and Jefferson to this team, re-sign everyone, and if they stay healthy, there's no excuse for not winning it. If they don't, it's a fail.

LeBron, Irving, Love, Varejao, Mosgov, Smith, Shumpert, Williams, Jefferson, Thompson, Jones, Dellavedova. Stacked. Win, no excuses other than being decimated by injuries again.
