Another very nice outing for Julius: 14 on 7 for 12 plus 9 boards. Sweet!

why is he dribbling with his right hand? He knows he isn't capable of doing that right?

Also had a few dimes and a few passes that should have been dimes. He's freaking good. I think we can sharpie him in as the starter.

He brought the ball up court like 4 or 5 times early in the 3rd, and he was making plays and getting assists on top of it. He really was playing like LO last night. He doesn't have LO's range or shot, but I continue to be impressed with his all-around game.

His perimeter defense has been great. When he switches, his ability to lock down the perimeter or at least defend it at a high level is such a very valuable thing. Still needs to work on rotating after Hibbert helps, though.

They are doing a better job of rotating to cover Hibbert, just comes with playing together more and more. I do like his defense when he switched to the perimeter guy as well, he's quick and big and just blitz the ball handler into a steal.

That's the Ron effect and why we keep him. Ron knows what this young man is capable of and he has the capability of imposing his will defensively and being a very good individual/team defender. Juilus can and will make 'winning' plays.

Yeah I mean watching him RIGHT NOW I think he's got Lamar's ability to handle the ball and make good/smart passes. He hit Kobe for a back door pass yesterday on a dime. Beautiful. This kid's talent level is preposterous.

Julius really does need to develop his footwork. He's got the great ball handling for his size, the strong bully ball, but he was also a highly touted post player coming into the NBA. I haven't seen much of that since he got here. Kobe worked on his footwork constantly for years until he got where he is now which is still one of the most skilled post players in the NBA even at his age.

I'd love to see him put some of these teachings in action. He's so quick for his size, he'd go to the free throw line 10 times a game if he made a quick, decisive move in the post.

Hopefully that's what Worthy is helping him on.

He seems to get so better explosion when he's not creating contact with someone. His fadeaways look good, his open drives are dunks. When he comes into contact with someone, it's like he loses all his momentum and doesn't get any lift.

:headscratch: Yeah he kind of does look like that. I remember a practice scrimmage just a few days ago where he got the pass in rhythmn and took off on one foot toward the rim, and was up there pretty high since it looked effortless, no gathering of himself needed. Hops was impressive on that play.

Interesting that this is happening already, I hope Randle and our guards give reason for it to continue all season. As a franchise, we need a draw beyond Kobe, we need these young guys to pan out.

As it should be. No one needs to market Kobe any more.

Well we certainly have the intrigue. I think our 3 young kids have too much upside and draw to not garner more and more attention this year as we move along.
