OK, it's not exactly NBA, but it's the closest thing before the season starts.

Today is the first day of the competition. Spain-Serbia was a great game. Pau played well, but it wasn't enough. Serbia wins: 80-70.

    Is anyone watching this?

I know Poland won... but European basketball sucks (at least more often than not) ;)
I'll have to look for some streams (looks like only polish team games are on tv) :(

There are plenty of streams. Serbia and Croatia looked pretty good actually. France was dissapointing.

    where are you from wc?

I'm watching the games played by Poland and so far we've won 2 games, even though the team played some extremely stupid ball at times. Tomorrow we face off against France, I expect a major beat down. It would be great if Poland could reach the quarterfinals...

Greece beats Croatia, what a game... Croats had a double digit lead and Spanoulis single-handedly brings the Greeks back.

If it wasn't for Hezonja's dumb plays, Spanoulis heroics wouldn't matter ;).

unfortunatelly, I agree. If we lose by less than 10 pts, I'll consider that a success.

This thread is getting so much attention it's crazy. Is somebody else watching or paying any attention? :)

Poland is facing off against Spain in the next round. That's just great... Spain is in rebuild mode and without some of their best players, but Pau alone should be anough to beat the crap out of our team. Unless they all play out of their minds and Karnowski has a huge coming out party againt an NBA legend. The hope dies last and as a remorseless optimist, I still see a little chance for us to advance to the next round.

Spain is definitely beatable. If we hadn't made so many mistakes during the last cupple of minutes we would have beaten them. They do have some great Veterans on the Team though who know exactly what they're doing and Pau is playing a phenomenal tourney so far.

^Exactly - Pau and a bunch of very experienced veterans vs. a young squad lead by Gortat who for some reason seems to believe he's the Polish version of Hakeem...

A bummer your team was eliminated, I was hoping to watch Dirk a little more on his probably last international tour. Now let's see if we can take revenge for you

Gortat sucks and Spain was fooling around (almost killed their chance). We'll see a new Spain from now on, book it.

I'd like to say Poland, but I just don't see it. If Pau has another good game, they should advance, but Spain was disappointing this Summer. Serbia and France are the best, followed by Greece, then maybe Croatia (although they are inconsistent).

We will need to have a better 1st half on Thursday ... Spain has been tested for the beginning of the tournament while we have been playing "inferior" opponents .

I'm a little concerned about this ... Our depth and defensive intensity should be enough to advance to the Final though .

Pau against Gobert is going to be interesting ...
