"J.J. Barea is finalizing a contract buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, according to sources.

Barea is on course to be bought out as soon as Sunday and Monday at the latest.

Barea is hoping to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks after clearing waivers. The Mavericks would then have to create a roster spot for him."

I would love to have this dude on our squad, we could really use him ... but looks like he's on his way to the Dallas Point Guards^^ ...

Dallas has a few guards already... If they part with Mekel for Barea, I'll take Mekel.

If they don't and Barea is a free agent he could maybe be worth a look.

I don't know why Dallas is the team to join. I don't see them as contenders.

Maybe Barea Just sees Minny management as perennial losers.

I think Dallas are for sure contenders. They're deep, they're versatile, and they've got a great coach. They have a legitimate shot at the title this season.

This. Dallas has a legitimate shot to come out; they're already in prime position to be one of the top 4 seeds and maybe even higher since Kevin is hurt right now. Their going to have a great season.

On topic, though, I read somewhere that this Barea buyout had to do with extending Rubio; from what I read, now that Barea is officially gone, Rubio will sign a 4 year 52 million dollar deal by Friday.
