I truly expect to see a vastly improved Russell come regular season. I see his game being much more effective with talented players around him. I also think he could have put up better numbers in the summer league but had a different, more team-oriented agenda. I'm basing most of this on faith, but he has been on record about getting a feel for guys/teams the first time around. He just seems so heady and relaxed that I think he's looking at the much bigger picture.

I agree with that. I think he'll put up good numbers and he'll do his thing during the season. I just don't think he'll be as good as Mudiay at first that's all. I hope I'm wrong, I just don't see it happening right away for Russell. Denver is moving ahead with Mudiay as the go-to guy while Russell is vying not just with Kobe but Clarkson as well (not to mention Randle).

^ i didn't see any summer league but the pre-draft videos I watched of Mudiay weren't that impressive. i was definitely biased based on his competition so i really can't compare any expectations for the 2 that wouldn't be a total homer pick.

He's just built like a tank already. He's somewhere between John Wall and Tyreke Evans. Not as fast as Wall, but that same type of game. Not as big as Tyreke, but able to use his strength to get to the rim. The only real big hole in his game is his outside shot which needs a lot of work. Otherwise he's a rock solid young kid.

Russell and Kaminsky's Harden impressions made me laugh out loud, as did Russell's Kobe.

Kaminsky seems like a fun kid.

Russell is gonna catch a good strong elbow in practice right after Nance Jr.'s.

Kobe is going to destroy this kid this year. It's not going to be pretty.

WTF? I thought to be able to see the game split seconds or "2 moves ahead of everyone else" as has been his hype ..... that you would have to be a smart cat. Smart enough at least to know your history of the game to not be throwing out half a***d comments like this that completely disrespect all of the all time greats that were better in their careers than Tracy freaking McGrady...... including Kobe Bryant on your own team. Once again, WTF? Flippant comment that a guy in his spotlight will have to learn REAL quick that the press is not your friend if they can catch you in a stupid quoted moment. Come on D'angelo.... you're supposed to be "better than this". [IMG] ???

Not wanting to make to big of a deal about a tweet, but this is why kids in the spotlight should be very careful about how they use their 140 characters.

It's one thing if someone like MWP said this when he was on the Lakers. He'd already earned the respect and support of the fans, proved himself in the league and to his teammates (especially the Mamba). But as a rookie...let's just say it's not a way to make friends on twitter or on the team.

Thinking about that tweet, even a 19 year old should know Kobe is better than McGrady, Kobe was still much better more recently. Maybe he meant he MIGHT have been the greatest had he not had injuries he did and played on some better teams? That's all I can come up with ha ha.

    I agree.

TMac, given work ethic and injury luck, would have been in the GOAT discussion. At his best, he was a sight to behold.

If anything, this does show he knows the history. Think about it. TMac hasn't been in his prime for 10 years now. I doubt Russel remembers him from when he was 9.

    He probably watches tape...

You go, kid. Speak up your mind. If you back it up with game, no one would care.
