Since he forced their hand with the Westbrook trade. When that crashed and burned, I think they started to want to end the marriage.

WTF do Jordan and Russell’s numbers have to do with the Lakers? Organically grown? Wilt and Kareem say hello. He got us a ring and will be in the HOF. Usually both but not always … one or the other gets your jersey up there and the Lakers “like” that collection up there. The larger it gets the better. Now …. a statue is a different story open for MUCH debate but he may get one too. With those criteria even Street Clothes AD may possibly get a jersey but that would be debatable too.

Yeah it's when we stopped wanting to give FRPs for short term upgrades on Bron/AD window. It was downhill from there in terms of investment in this window.
Which was a great decision and something nobody credits Rob

i don't trust this will last. rich paul won't keep his mouth shut for long. vando and bronny are the last klutch guys on the roster, so we may be fully rid of that guy soon.

Dude was paid over 50 million dollars his last to seasons. Did he want us to have "Aspiration" to pay him more?

Lakers retired Wilt's jersey in 1983, loooong after he retired. Granted before that retiring jerseys was not a thing, so we could have arguably retired his jersey sooner.

Kareem is no brainer. He won 5 titles and 3 MVPs with Lakers.

Lebron has always been a mercenary and unlike Wilt or Kareem, he won't be remembered playing for Lakers. Those numbers are just as much as associated with his tenure at Cavs and Heat, as Jordan and Russell, with MJ and Bill being the OG.

his production will be missed. When he decided to play 3rd best player, our play skyrocketed.

It's clear that was not in the cards for him moving forward

so he'll be missed, but it's probably better for the team to build around Luka sooner than be delayed by another year appeasing Lebron.

When he’s healthy and we play his team …. he’s going to be a load to have to overcome to win those games.

LeMax is a self centered prick. He didn't want to pass the torch to Luka. The elephant has left the room. Now its officially accountability for everyone.

I will say, yes to jersey. no to statue. So far, what is there is good enough, and ALL deserved.

Also, I am fine with Davis getting his jersey retired too. I think he earned enough to have it.

    And the sky is blue.

Most real people know...we aren't going to be great......BUT.......we might sign enough and trade enough to be a regular play-in team or on that cusp of making the playoffs still, despite all of this.

And like some are saying, if this ends Pelinka...the next GM will come in and move pieces and we'll be better right as Luka is ending is Prime....probably. Which still means A RING.....just maybe not as many.

Either way, it'll eventually work out for us.

Again, IF WE SUCK BAD this year.....we just get a high pick next year...........

Based on WHAT exactly besides your spammed hate of the guy weekly. You seriously think he expected to be the Big Dog and carry the scoring load at his age once Luka got here, and saw him look anything but happy toward Luka when they were playing together? PM The Rock and you 2 guys can go get blind drunk or blitzed any which way together to celebrate. Some of us do remember the s*** off seasons for years when we couldn't get the time of day from anyone respectable, with NO f****** end in sight.
