I remember when Michael Jordan was playing and he claimed he simply couldn't do the speed limit and was often clocked at over 100. Everyone cheered. Guess it depends on who you are. Sadly.
He beat his girl up or something like that when with HOU anyways, no longer our problem. Mitch dodged another bullet.
Wasn't there some huge thread in the open court at CL about people who speed vs people who don't like people who speed? Count me with those against it, Hill is a moron if he was going that fast. You can kill yourself, or even worse, other innocent drivers and kids. If I offended any of you here that like to speed, too bad, slow down and at least come close to the speed limit. I'm not going over 45 in a 40 and getting a ticket for hundreds of dollars so you can feel cool playing Fast and Furious.
I'm a notorious speedster especially on the 241 going to South Orange County or going to Riverside. I usually slow down on more heavily traveled roads, but I acknowledge that I do need too slow down.
Eh, while I'm not a big fan of speeders, I have less of an issue with it when it comes to freeways or 2 lane highways in the middle of nowhere or something. I'm still not a fan when it reaches crazy speeds and cars are zipping in and out of traffic causing accidents, but I have much more of an issue with it on residential streets, 25 mph neighborhoods and such.
I speed. Usually 5 - 7% above the speed limit. Technically, I'm breaking the law, but I personally feel going with the flow of traffic is safer for everyone, and that's what I do. Doing 100 - 140 mph is just crazy to me. I guess I'm getting old.
I'm a flow of traffic guy too. I might go 80-85 but only if I'm in a group of cars on an open freeway. If traffic is slow, so am I. However, I never go more than 90 miles an hour even on wide, wide open highways (like oh I don't know the 15 into Vegas). It's dangerous, it's stupid, and it can get you and others killed. Going over 100? Take his license away.
Same. I use to speed when I was young but now I just follow the flow of traffic or go 5 over on streets, 10 over on freeways. BTW, the main causes of accidents are differences in speed, not out right speed. Following the flow of traffic is the safest and most practical bet.
Maybe he should just sign over here in Germany and enjoy the German Autobahn ... But driving like that is just plain stupid. A Lot of People cant control those speeds while crossing over People which is more a concern than the speed itself. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
No excuse for it, but this was the mildest traffic violation story of the week. Mike Scott was a f***ing fool (high speed chase and a felony drug charge from 35g of weed and 11g of molly) and then there's Sheldon Richardson.
Depends upon what car he was driving, and how many other cars (driving slower than him) were on the road. Also the road condition (no pot holes, no blind curves, etc). Some cars can handle at 100mph+. Ferrari's, Lambo's, etc. And sometimes there is very little traffic, so there's no danger to other motorists. I remember Bynum was given a speeding ticket for driving 100mph+ in his Ferrari because there weren't any other cars on the road except the police officer lying in wait. Consequently, he was given a speeding ticket and wasn't charged with "reckless driving". Since Hill was charged with "reckless driving" and not "speeding", there may have been other factors besides just the speed he was traveling at. Larry Bird infers in his statement that Hill may have posed a danger to others by his actions.
