I kind of canvased the league a little bit, there’s only really 6-8 teams with the MLE and yes some of them will use that to bring back their guys, so Tobias, CJ, Coby, Ayo etc will be off the board, but there will still only be 3-4 teams with the MLE left.

Out of those a bunch are guard heavy, I honestly think the room exception is the max he’ll get. And Smart is also in a tough boat if he wants to be on a competitor and get more money - we’re probabaly the most likely destination for both.

From 3 yeah, but he hit some big shots inside the line for sure. We just struggle to get him really open, he has to shoot so quick. Felt like he got fouled on one of them with no call too.

He's still valuable when not shooting great from 3: houston is all over him on the court which frees up Smart.

That missed wide open was almost a game loser but what can you do - I'm giving him that shot all the time

Yeah, and the shots he's taking are shots he usually makes. If he misses them, you just learn to live with it.

He's bringing that Steph Curry-like impact on the court. Getting other dudes wide open. Maybe someone can fact check me but I think since trading for Luke, the Lakers are the best shooting team in the league. They went from rank 27 to 14.

Don't even want to go there with a poor man Steph's comparison or anything but this is what made Curry great. I've always thought of him as one of the few gunners who is still fun to play with. Steph is good dribbler, passer, and finisher on top of that shooting which is what really had him special and Kennard kind of has that offensive game where kinds of good at everythign on top of being an awesome shooter

All I know is, he's a role player who is actually working out for us. If the price is right, do it.

I’m not down with a man referring to another man as “saucy.” LOL
Anyhoo, it is wild to me that Luke has been in the NBA for this many seasons, played for several coaches, and NONE of them until recently, have understood that he can actually perform well as a secondary ball handler. The dude is smart, has a decent handle and can pass.
I understand guys “fitting into roles,” but that doesn’t excuse any of these coaches actually limiting a player from doing more. I know this happens a lot, and many times, players need to be moved elsewhere to show more of what they can do(NAW in ATL), but it should happen less.

I honestly picked up on this just watching him play when we first got him. It seemed to me the way he handled the ball but then would put a cork in it and either pass it well and quickly to an open player or shoot himself that he looked like there was "more" he wanted to do with it.

I’m quietly optimistic that Kennard can develop this side of his game more. He has high IQ and a belief in himself. We should let him create more from the bench, let him watch Nash videos.

Would be nice to have a 7th guy that’s an offensive weapon off the bench giving you 12pts 5 assists
