Don't sleep on Koloko. He is the best rim-protector and defensive center on the team. His rookie year, averaged 1 block per game in only 13.9 minutes. That's 2.6 per 36. Also averaged 0.9 steals per 36 and had a DBPM of 0.8 and a block rate of 6.9%. Let's not fool ourselves. Ayton is not the defensive center to help cover for our below average perimeter defenders.

This guy stepping up would really solidify the roster and we can use a rim protector

Now about his offense, setting screens and rebounding

    All need to improve

I'm always pulling for the young guys to elevate their game

And with the Lakers we have had many guys do that

I have been watching Koloko since his freshman year at Arizona, He made one jump in improvement between his sophomore and junior year. Since then he just has flashes of being good, but it usually is against inferior competition. I bet he gets waved from his 2 way contract this season.

You just burst a lot of balloons on this boards

A lot of us like the unknowns and want them to step it up and make an impact

Don't take that away from us

He needs to gain another 30lbs or so to be able to set decent screens. I could probably make it through his and I’m only 180lbs.
I love his energy and his timing is decent.

one of those guys where it's a question whether his mentality and physicality will get there before the latter starts declining. it took tyson chandler a long time, imo, but he got there for a few years and was a pivotal piece. koloko wasn't the #2 overall pick and thus has had a shorter leash.

he's got tools; we'll see if he can make them work. i always liked him more than jemison, though, for example. and castleton.

i probably liked hough more, though.
