While a spectacular dunker, worries me that he's doesn't finish layups particularly well. His FT% was 69% which doesn't look a positive predictor as well. speaks to a coordination deficit compared to NBA quality players Since the height is 6'6' he's not going to be a big. He's going to have to work really hard on getting an offensive game - probably the corner 3 and then one counter move to the hard close out to become playable. Have to hope for a Toppin like progression on his 3 point shot. looks like he's got more defensive potential then Toppin who is a good weak side rim protector but kind of looks awkward when isolated.
you add 2 inches and he's still not a big. It's much harder to play defensive only players who aren't bigs, unfortunately. I think this dude is a good second round pick - but he's a project it will take 2-3 years to see if he's going to make it in the league.
anunoby shot 52% at the line in college. his hs coach claims he could shoot it. i'm pretty optimistic he'll be able to catch and shoot within a couple years. i think it's reasonable to expect him to be good enough to see the floor in his second year, but not this year. heavy g-league reps this year.
Thiero shot like 40% from 3 in HS before he started growing. He played all 5 positions including PG. His growth spurt came late, and reports are he was still getting used to his taller and larger body, particularly his hands wrto shooting and release points. If he could learn do shoot well before, he should still be able.to learn to shoot well again, once he finishes adjusting. I'm optimistic that with development, he'll be a passable shooter within 2-3 years and possibly even a very good one after that. There's at least evidence and precedence to think so.
Mike is on for the first 10 minutes. He thinks the jumper is what scared teams away. He's not concerned. Basically compares it to Shazaam. He sprouted up a foot and is still learning his newfound super powers.
Last night's interview Recommend clicking on the thread, he has over 10 video breakdown clips of Thiero
Another thread i recommend you click and go through After the thread, he has a few other Thiero related posts I do disagree with his player comp though Watched a decent bit of Paul in his prime with the Hawks. Nothing I've seen from Thiero makes me think Milsap. Completely different kind of physicality.
.... he looks to be in Vando's motor/defensive mayhem creating class with more athleticism vertically and more strength down low, and there's numbers of ways it shows he should be able to score MUCH more easily than Vando that have nothing to do with standing in a corner waiting to shoot a 3 ..... including the relentless rim pressure, drawing fouls, offensive rebounding and put backs, LOBS and that real sweet FLOATER.
https://www.tankathon.com/players/c...yant--noa-essengue--cooper-flagg--adou-thiero Except for 3's, Thiero compares favorably to #5 Ace Bailey, #9 #12 Noa Essangue, and #14 Carter Bryant.
Interesting. With the extensive comparison stats between all four players .... 28 categories total .... Thiero managed to rack up a couple 1st places and 5 last places, while Bailey with the entitled attitude and wack job agent logged zero firsts and by far the most last places with 12. Just sayin'
Attrocious ... compared to what? LOL Jamal Wilkes says hello and Lonzo too which means with the best staff money can buy ,,,, Adou will be able to change and improve too. He can SCORE in like 5 other ways. Right? Mark Walters baby!!
Coaching staff can work on building and fine tuning his offensive game but with that athleticism and wolf mentality on defense Adou is going to get some minutes. Maniacal intensity and can run, sign me up. Step out of the garden and into the weeds.
16,7% in one of the metrics, has the lowest % AND least volume. It's really bad compared to those guys. But it's not a problem, tons of guys develop shooting and it was already explained his hands have been growing. He'll come along. But it's definitely the area he needs to focus asap
Y'all know what he's going to be doing with those ginormous hands above the rim right? P&R with bruising picks ... who says NO? And Luka is but one of 3 elite passers on our roster that can hit him with the "lobs".
