I was thinking the same thing the other night.
Horry was undervalued as a good defender during that run and I think DFS’ offense is now with us. Yeah, he went through a bad slump before the last couple but nearly every shooter does- even Curry.

Two of my best friends are from different worlds- one from Puerto Rico and the other a Latvian Jew.
Our world is great like that.

Love how he plays, the shots don’t always fall, but he still plays the same out there from what I can see

yeah, i'll get flamed for this but he and gabe really aren't much different, imo. i mean that in a complimentary fashion, but they're just not skilled offensively. they play hard all the time, and they're both tough and smart. this is why coaches love them. but their shots are the result of work and reps overcoming natural deficits, imo. same with their ballhandling respective to their position.

i also like that both are mentally tough, though, too. like, i trust DFS or gabe to make a shot in the playoffs more than i trusted dlo.

all that said, let's not forget that "big shot rob" horry sealed his exit from the lakers by going like 2-25 from three during the playoffs, right?

anyway, i'm back to my gabe/DFS are fisher/horry narrative.

Now if Finney-Smith can make a simple lay-up...

I feel like DFS isn't getting enough credit defensively, which is why he's getting consistently big minutes.

He's the only one willing to switch onto anyone outside of Vando. If Bron calls it, he does it. The guy is undersized but has no issue guarding 4-5 and then switching onto 2-3.

That's gotta take a toll on him when he's shooting the ball which helps guys like Bron and Rui who can take some effort off defensively.

He's Trevor Ariza 2.0 for us.

I will always appreciate the less skilled guys who become very good at defense.
Yeah, he’s streaky, just like every other non-All Star shooter.
So glad that Rob was able to get him because he’s exactly what our team was lacking.
There’s only really one hole to fill this summer.

He needs to be grooving at the actual game and hit his wide open 3.

And Layups? Not hitting the rim on that layup attempt which negated a putback Lebron dunk was err sad.

Still its so hard to get at mad at a dude whose just always in the right place and guards so many positions
