This dude sets some brick wall screens. But it just not the usual PnR stuff, he put his body between defenders and driving lanes so once a dude gets in the lane there is no help coming because Jemison bowling balled into them. What a find by the FO Anthony Irwin says that they may not want to piss off Lens agent as he won't have a chance to be on a playoff roster but f*** it, Jemison look like a legit rotation guy.
Heck yeah he is and he looks a little more coordinated every game the more minutes he gets to go with all that Vando like energy. Anyone notice he throws some really nice passes? A long bullet chest pass to Shake for a 3 and a similar shorter pass to Dalton also a 3 and one other nice one hander somewhere.
interesting. he's markkanen's agent (and almost nobody else). but i'm guessing we made some promises to get len to basically decommit from indy (isn't that what happened?), so just dumping him would be a bad look. i'm still not entirely sure why we wanted len so much. i get why we wanted mark williams, but len hasn't been good for a while, isn't young, and isn't even really the "bruiser" jj claimed to want. jemison is.
I don't think we have lost a game with this kid playing. Anyone have the stat? He brings a certain energy that we haven't had for a while. Not just hustle, but hustle + meanness + toughness.
I dont expect Len to be the guy who gets cut for the reasons already given. I can't imagine us burning a player right when we seem to reaping the rewards from building up some relationships across the league.
That leaves Shake after Cam … IF we’re converting Goodwin too? Who would be good as an asset to trade going forward (I think with an expiring next year if we pick it up?). Is Goodwin THAT much more valuable than Milton off the bench?
I like Shake but I really like what I’ve seen from Goodwin. I’m convinced he’s a keeper. Great hustle D and just enough timely offense.
he definitely has those Thorpe, Kevin Willis vibe of weight lifting physiques who couldn't jump a lick. I think those dudes were taller but if he can continue to switch on defense and add something of value on offense outside of screens (the short roll passing for example) to make up for his lack of shooting/verticality he's going to be a rotation quality big
You're absolutely right. I don't think Thorpe was any taller, actually. They are very close in height and weight. Kevin Willis, sure, but your point still stands.
Definitely surprising. Screens, passes, physical, tough, little dirty...a lot to like here. Here's what Vando said about him after the NO game
