Respect and well wishes for Davis BUT he is the opponent as it stands. Not fully embraced the trade personally as we have our own issues at the 5 spot.

if he’s out this long in a tight western conference I do wonder if they will still make the playoffs

I feel sorry for the Mavs fans that aren’t complete lunatics threatening their GM’s life.

This injury after one game is insane

I feel horrible for AD as he will be the focal point of their rage with them feeling like on top of Nico out of the blue shipping Luka out for hardly anything in picks and damaged goods in AD.

Am kind of wondering, compared to our rescinded trade how AD passed OK. Guess they expected he was on the mend and almost back, knowing what he had. AD probably ignored some not 100% yet discomfort with the abdominal strain because he wanted to get on the floor for them.

that's brutal. mavs are stupid for rushing him back just to make the fans happy

hard not to feel bad for him considering he already had mavs fans hating him just for being part of the trade. he looked absolutely dominant in that game, so if he can get healthy by playoff time i still think the mavs can make a deep run

Feel bad for him, didn't deserved it. Hope he gets back healthy and doesn't end up tied to the bad side of this trade.

yeah, when i saw it, i thought it was a pulled groin, and that can take a while.

he played 31 minutes in that game, and i believe the injury occurred with a couple minutes left in the 3rd.

why would you play a guy coming early off a strained abdominal muscle that many minutes?

some of my casual fan dallas friends texted me last night making fun of AD, and i was like...you may get what you deserve, folks.

it's ok to be mad about the trade; it's f***ing infantile to take it out on the guy who waived his trade kicker and took the trade in stride. you think AD wanted to move his family from la to dallas? to play for the mavs? that he didn't also feel disrespected by being traded without any consultation? and now you get a fanbase ready to hate you for no good reason. you go out and dominate their in-state rival in your first game, and the thanks you get is people using the injury you sustained as a further point of grievance. boo.

That is a shame. Maverick staff and front office trying to save face instead of being patient. I really dig Davis's game when he is fully healhy.

I bet AD wanted to play and insisted on keep going. He heard the chatter, he felt miserable, it ended up poorly to say the least.
I will always love the guy, but he's not a superman unfortunately.

I think this too ... that AD pronounced himself good to play and wanted to quiet the fan base down as soon as possible and show them what HE was going to bring. And boy did he ever that first half. A "typical" kind of "monster" game from him was in the works. You know the 40 plus points 20 rebounds 5 blocked shots .... whatever it wound up, and it WOULD have gone a long way. Just sucks the proverbial BIG One he made his situation health wise and time going to be out of the lineup much worse now in the process.

    All Dallas bigs are injured
    Davis, Lively, Washington, Gafford, Powell
Gafford exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent right knee injury in the second quarter of Monday's game against the Kings

dallas has been decimated by injuries all year. i think they were like 10-1 when they had their top 4 guys or whatever.

but you can't win like this.

it's worth noting at this point that they have their 2025 pick, and it might be wise to let AD rest (or get surgery if that's what's required here), let lively fully recover, and embrace the tank.

feel bad for klay in that instance, but i'd try to sell the team on the fact that a healthy roster next year with a full training camp and a lotto pick is better than trying to scrape into the play-in this year only to be blasted by okc or memphis in round 1, possibly sustaining further injuries.
