David West to San Antonio for the minimum.

Geez, that's a stacked PF lineup.

Kevin Garnett just signed for 2 more years in Minny. I don't get that at all, I thought he was retiring. First, if you're gonna hang on, why play for a bad team instead of ring chasing? The only reason I can see for this is he genuinely loves playing so much he just wants to keep going, yet many teams don't want him. Or, he wants to break Parish's record of the longest NBA career and play 22 seasons. Dude is going into his 21st season, he came in before Kobe, that's nuts.

He wants to be part of the organization after he retires.

I get that, but he probably could retire now and do that, right? Dragging your old bones up and down the court for 2 more seasons though, yikes. But it's good for them though if I'm honest, he always seems like a great locker room guy and he can be a mentor to all their young players and Towns especially.

I'm guessing it's a mixture of both. He's wanting to be a part of the front office when he retires and that means these dudes are going to be the foundation and core of what he's working with. Being on the team as a player will allow him to connect in a way that might not resonate as much if he retired and was an assistant coach.

He can follow by example as a player to ensure that they've got a good leader and idea of how to act as professionals.

Maybe they told him that if he played a couple more years for the team, they'd sell it to him.

LMAO! I was trying to find the GIF of them doing that odd little "finger thing" on the leg on the bench in Houston a couple years and couldn't, to make a similar point. But I came across the same thing above which I hadn't seen before and came running back to LB to post it. You beat me to it.

obviously, parsons is over the top (as is cuban) in terms of what jordan can do. but in a league where dwight howard is considered the best center, is it that crazy that jordan could be? i think he's as good or better than howard in almost every facet of the game right now. howard just (inexplicably) gets more frequent touches in the half court. if the mavs have promised jordan they will do that, his scoring numbers could jump. not sure it will help the team, but it would help his rep for sure.

His scoring numbers will increase, but his efficiency will plummet and the Mavs aren't winning a ring by dumping the ball to Jordan down low. Unless he's got a bevy of post moves no one knows about, this move could keep the Mavs in the same mediocrity that the Rockets have enjoyed the last three years. Worse even because the Mavs don't have James Harden, they've got an aging Dirk and two broken role players.

they're pretty much the same player. jordan is just slightly bigger.

only, dwight in 2009 was the best we'll ever see him. he was at the top of his defense and was a rebounding monster. now, injuries seem to limit that quick bounce he used to have and now he's pretty much a role player.

jordan is still young, but I don't see him adding a post game or anything like that would really push him to being a real 20 and 10 consistent player.
