Im so ready to move on from this guy man....he's SOOOO bad

I don't think his defense is all that good either....d'ing up on Quickley don't count cuz QuickleY JUST returned form injury and still getting his legs under him

I'd much much much rather play Knecht over him

He was awful - I'm worried that he's becoming JJ's Prince out here. I get it he wanted someone with quicker feet on SPJ but man I thought he still got burnt a bunch of times, doesn't give you anything on the glass or scoring. He has so many open 3's and shots arrgh.

Would have gone with Cam who at least gets you steals, boards and deflectiosn

disagree on the defensive assessment; i thought he was good there. his offense is absolutely putrid right now, and he's becoming fully unplayable as a result. reddish is doing (just) enough on offense to justify minutes, why can't gabe hit anything from anywhere?

really would like to see olivari get some spot duty, just to see if someone can cash in on the easy opportunities that the offense is creating.

anyway, gabe's going to really piss me off when we end up having to pay more to dump him, then he returns to form somewhere else after rehabbing for a year on our dime.

Agree with everything. Shouldn't hurt to give Olivari a shot, although him and DLo off the bench may look a bit redundant, but here we are. We just need some production at this point.

Gabe defends well, he bodies up really nicely and changes a lot of moves from the guards. But he really needs to hit some shots

someone called him pat bev in this thread, and i think that's pretty close. though i think bev at least, like, grabbed a rebound.

but i don't have personal disdain for gabe, so that's a plus.

Look at Cam ^^^  .... hasn't been mentioned much how he's hitting nearly every 3 is my impression. Wonder what the actual % is?

Jaxson too and he's been playing really well under this coaching staff. Koloko off to good start but tiny sample.

cam's 5-7 from three and 7-10 from 2 on the year. so yeah, he's on fire. in a very tiny sample, of course.

gabe is 5-30 from three, 8-18 from 2.

those lamenting his defense are actually supported by the early numbers, too, but i wonder if those are influenced by the offense being just so terrible when he's out there that the opposition is getting easier opportunities in transition at a higher rate.

we're past the ten game mark, so i'm not sure how much longer jj can wait. one could argue there's a better case for playing max, tbh.

had we not pre-emptively cut jhs, i'd be suggesting we throw him out there again, as it can't be much worse. and we've already mentioned olivari. at any rate, he's been a huge negative, so hopefully jj's belief is founded upon something.

Man defense is not the only part of defense: defense is also reducing possessions by grabbing rebounds, getting steals, deflections and getting blocks.

This dude had zero points, rebounds, blocks, assists, and steals!!!!?

That's bonkers bad and regardless of how he looks trying to mean mug on defense that means youre getting crushed at every other facet of the game with him. Just terrible and he basically killed a number of Lakers run because Memphis ignored him

What is really a head scratcher is steady players, heady players, feisty players, defensive players... all labels given to Gabe, are hustle guys, hard working players. *those* players do something on the box score. The effort and activity results in 1 steal. 1 rebounds. SOMETHING! Even on accident. Not Gabe.

I was one of the first to say this was such a horrific move the moment we signed this guy. He is sooooo bad. Even if it isn’t as long or as much money as the mozgov and deng deals, it’s really hard for me not to think this is pretty much in that territory. This signing will definitely go down in infamy. Is there any team that would take this guy for less than a bag of chips? He is so horrid. I absolutely lose it when i see him touch the floor. I wonder what our true basketball leaders (within the lakers org) really think when they watch this guy play… not that he cares, but I’ll never forgive Rob for this one.

It doesn’t have to go down in infamy if he can be moved for anyone who can help us. Like if he’s traded with some 2nd rounders in December for Jonas, we could forget very quickly. Nunn was an awful signing for us, but, he got moved with some 2nds for Rui, and that has helped us forget, Bob Todd just has to get creative again.

By LA Gabe standards (the bar is so low) that was a great game. I'm not going to be foolish enough to hope that's a turning point. Maybe trade him today though, value won't get higher than it is after that game.

Vincent had a wide open trey in the first half. He hesitated resulting in a miss. Did not see that in South Beach.
