lol, this place would erupt, but i've said the same. dlo is already a bargain at his current contract. if he truly has no bidders above mle, we're in good position to retain him on a similar or even lower salary, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. he doesn't have to be moved for us to improve the roster.

I think it was easy to listen to that and not see shots taken at Ham, but you could also squint hard and see where it could be taken that way.

he seems to be in a good headspace, heading into the season

I think the shots to Ham happen when he says they were winging it last year and this year there's structure. Not sure if in this one or the one with ESPN LA.

    I am too.
I don’t “hate” or “love” the guy. He’s a basketball player for the most prestigious Franchise in the NBA. If you don’t show up for each and every single playoff game, you will hear about it. If you don’t like it, go play for Detroit or the Flippers.
I do love how candid he’s been and welcome more of it.
Good on him for apologizing for being “unprofessional” at times last season.

As ever I’m rooting for Dlo. He grew on me this second time in the purple and gold. He’s a very good regular season player for the position and he has a nice chemistry with the team. He’s made baby steps at getting better in the post season. If he sticks around I hope this is the year he makes actual strides in the playoffs. With no more KCP on Denver maybe he can get over the hump if we play them again.

in the meantime maybe just maybe Gabe can stay healthy and provide a real back up PG presence.

if dlo played on another team, we'd want him (see: anfernee simons). 18pts 6ast with only 2 TOs per game, and his defense isn't good but it's not as bad as people suggest, imo. he's basically the same player he was when he made the all star team.

Sorry, your name is made in the playoffs as a Laker, it just is what it is. We had great players people loved in the 90’s, but they couldn’t get us over the hump in the playoffs, so we got rid of them for players who could, and it paid off. I expect him to have a great regular season as always, be in trade rumors all season long, and if he’s still here to help us get into the playoffs and then disappear pretty quick. Same story every year, we’ve seen this movie like 8 times, it always ends the same.

If he has a nice start to the season, then we extend him. If we don’t extend him, I expect us to trade him. Losing him as an asset, for nothing would be pretty silly. But then, again… Our front office…

it's a weird situation, as he's supposedly worth more as an expiring, but imo, that's not true. it's going to piss everyone off, but extending him at above mle prices is better for down-the-road trade value than his current value as an expiring, imo.

the only guys worth more as expirings are useless/dead guys. and fewer and fewer teams can afford to keep those guys on.

dlo's worth 1.25-1.5x his contract value in terms of production. nobody's extracting a first from me to "take him on" for their mediocre wing player. kick rocks, b****.

I absolutely re-sign him for 12-18mil range and 3 or 4 years. He's quite good, most people who hate him probably just don't watch the games. In that range, he's almost a steal, especially with that contract going into the new CBA.
Not sure he signs it, but I think he might not get more considering his position (most teams have star guards).
Absolutely he's a liability in the playoffs, but that's why you had Schroder and now Gabe. You just need to consider that in your roster construction
