I think what most fans have a problem with is: if you give Carmelo a max then you're trying to win now because otherwise why bother? And Phil actually said they were in win now mode and Porzingis just isn't ready yet to be an NBA player every night. Why tell the fans one thing and do another? Simple: Phil thought this was going to be easier than it has been. That being said, in the Leastern Conference he should probably make it to the playoffs with that roster.
Man, I laughed a lot during that. The end was ridiculous, I don't see how you can't laugh at the mere visual, and then throw in Stephen A's screams. I haven't heard from Stephen A since after the draft pick, which he absolutely did go nuts over, but I believe he did like their other pick, and the free agent moves they made since were absolutely solid. Knicks were and have been a disaster, which started like a decade ago, they weren't going to be rebuilt overnight, by anyone. I think signing Melo to that deal honestly was the worst move Phil made last offseason or during the season. He's not winning them anything, it was paying a big name to have a big name, so you look more respectable and don't look bad by losing your hometown star. But now they're stuck with him and HAVE to build around him, where we no longer have to with Kobe.
