Head Coach Discussion: Canned Ham, Who Is Our New Coach?

Give me Handy IF he wants in on the applications, Rondo and Stotts (same IF) on the bench for starters …. and Phil picks his day to day “young Phil Handy” up and coming skills trainer and other assistants.

Artest is crazy if he thinks he’ll get a shot without doing some assistant work first.

 

Atkinson would be my pick if the retread coaches.

Adelman if we decide to go with another assistant.

 

Eric Pinkus article on why JJ could work (I still can’t get past the stupidity of him ignoring AD on his top 5 and second 5 all defensive teams) …. and other moves and decisions the Lakers need to make.

lol. imagine an offseason of hiring redick and trading for trae young. the laker hating masses would be frothing at the mouth for our demise even moreso than they already do!

I think you are on to something. Redick to me is better than some retread we know won't cut it and Trae can run our offense so the ball gets to where it needs to be. Though I'm kind of leaning toward Adelman.

 

Somewhat surprised Jeff Van Gundy’s name hasn’t been thrown around. He no longer has a broadcasting gig so he’s readily available.

On the Mason and Ireland show this week, John Ireland threw out the idea of hiring JJ Redick but also bringing in Mike Krzyzewski as a special consultant to help JJ out for a few years. I would be very hesitant on JJ with no coaching experience when we have title aspirations in the next 2 years, we need someone who won’t get outcoached when the pressure is on. Maybe a Mike K. Consultant situation can really help with that.

 

I think Mike K. Is not available for that role despite the Duke connection.

Van G has been out of coaching for a really long time. That ship seems to have sailed, but I’m sure he’d be solid and handle the press fine.

same reason why scott skiles isn't being considered for any HC gigs anymore

today's players aren't willing to play for the old school, drill sergeant type coaches
