Continuity would be great and if qualifying for the playoffs outright is the goal then we’re better off with DLo. The problem is AD and Bron will probably take it easy on the 1st part of the season after playing in the Olympics

i think qualifying for the playoffs is definitely a goal. the west is stacked, man. only portland and utah aren't all-in right now on competing. that's wild. i honestly can't think of a time when only two teams in the conference didn't have legitimate playoff aspirations. it's going to take a lot just to get a seat at the table.

furthermore, NO owns our pick. we have to win as many games as possible, period.

it's possible that starting the year out with the dlo/reaves/vando/lebron/AD lineup can help us stack some wins instead of starting out behind the 8 ball like every year since 2019.

the added bonus is that at the deadline, you're dealing from a position of strength, with multiple picks, dlo's expiring, and rui/gabe only have one year on their deals after this one.

again, i know anthony irwin has heard this story and will be BIG MAD. but he was the same way when we were patient and then made a conference finals run.

Hawks now have our 2025 pick.

They wanted our pick for Murray, just not one(s) we were in possession of.

It’s not the same as rooting against the Pelicans but let’s give the Hawks a decent pick at no. 26 in the draft for not trading with us instead

Great news! Payroll is going to be tight though, so I would expect some sort of trade, not necessarily involving Dlo though.

Tinkerbell was not dumb enough to opt out, and test his value on the open market I guess. All that leverage he had notwithstanding.

So we're trading him to Boston?

This is best possible outcome for us. Stay or go, it's up to us now. So much for that leverage he thought he had.

I really hope we look to use him in a trade to improve if possible, now he’s an expiring. I truly don’t want to see DLo in the playoffs part 3. Doesn’t sound like it at the moment though

edit: Woike just deleted the original tweet and reframed it from the coaching staff wanting to see what they can do with him, to DLo wants to stay and see what the coaching staff can do with him. Huge difference

Well. Donovan Mitchell hasn't signed an extension yet, and the Knicks are off the table.

I figured playing for JJ would appeal to him

DLo opting in was always the best option for us. I know in this scenario he’s usually been envisioned as a trade chip, but I really don’t mind keeping him. At least for now.

Even if we are looking to move him, it’s in everyone’s best interest to portray this as if we want to give DLo a serious shot under JJ. Making it obvious that we’re desperately trying to move him doesn’t help anyone

AR, DLO and JJ .... that's a threesome on the links BTW.

    :Magic Brows:

Mentioned several days ago he's tight with AR who's genuinely amped to play for JJ and I figured would be telling DLO he would be great for both their games. JJ wants shooters and DLO one of the sweetest strokes on the team.

OR .... more likely DLO's agent bumped up against the hard reality of all the other team's execs having also lurked for all the hot takes on LB and Slick was brutal with the Chokeolo moniker for awhile (since softened to Tinkerbell and allowed to stick around til the Feb deadline :D  ) and absolutely killed his market.

Have a great season (and find that team they've promised to let you help pick for the sign and trade ..... if not already a done deal). Asset not lost mission accomplished, Scrambling Man.

I like DLo and JJ probably loves his shooting, but two seasons of playoff blunders… gotta make a change.
