Colin Castleton Discussion: Block Party

It would be nice to get this kid a few minutes to develop him. We do not seem to be good at developing our young talent for the varsity squad.

 

I’m sick of this version of the Lakers being so awful at developing our young talent.

damn, that's like out for 2 weeks.

 

-12 in 6 minutes, even if in garbage time with Maxwell isn't really going to get it done. Need more if he's hoping to get some burn. I've been a little disappointed in how casual he seems to run the floor. If I'm trying to get minutes, I think I'd be Mr. Hustle, setting picks, rebounding, whatever was needed to see the floor more.

I agree the guy runs at one speed like nothing important’s going on. I know he has talent and is afraid to do anything but try to fit in and set picks and get the ball to other guys but show some fire out there. Somehow.

 

Castleton and Lewis were awful out there. I hope they had to run laps because the starters had to come back in and secure that W.

That's two games in a row where Colin has looked downright bad. It's garbage time, so long term you can't put anything into it. BUT it matters when you're trying to secure the win and ensure the big dogs get their rest. Maybe give Giles those minutes for now.

Man that would be great if he actually has taken a leap over the off season and it really shows in SL especially on D and with 3s. Needs to UP his motor for the not Big minutes, if he is still here and is a 2-way or? Ever since sirron pointed out his “seeming” one speed running the court or fighting for rebounds it dropped my opinion of him a bit. He’s a good enough athlete to do better in those areas. Try full speed balls out …. out there on the court when you get the opportunities.

 

My favorite thing he said was his work on defensive spacing- instead of just going after every block- like how AD plays.

 

yeah, i think folks were maybe overly excited about him (and overly down on jhs).

 

Agreed, he did play some g league but had plenty of time to be working on his game. Colin is just another example of how we have not used our young talent correctly. He could of helped AD substantially this season. With a better coach he will have a much better season coming up. Hopefully with us.

 

His talent is obvious, over excited in thinking ham would be use him is possible.

 

c'mon, man. he most certainly did not jump off the page when he played against the big boys. not at all.
