"Randle will be open and not even know it, but I'll find him and make it easier for him." That's what a great PG does.

This is probably the first time I've ever seen the actual regular season squad playing in the summer league.

Yeah half this team will be on our squad. 3/5 of the starters are projected to start the regular season too. If they DON'T dominate we're in trouble. :D

His shot wasn't falling in his loss to Arizona, but his passing was OMG

^Nice highlight reel... What I find impressive is that Russell's passing is so effortless. Cerebral in how he conducts the floor with very good court vision.

thats what makes him more dangerous imo

for example he can be ice cold in the first half but could still have a huge impact on a game with his amazing court vision and passing the ball to his teammates at the right time

They go undefeated, there's trouble up ahead...:worried: Consider this a "mixer"...it will be at times choppy. Questions galore... Will Russell's timely passes be converted? How assertive will he be if his teammates aren't converting? Will Randle play too much one on one? Can Nance make defenses respect him on the perimeter? Is Upshaw legit? Does Sacre have new dance moves?

The one factor that I am concerned with Russell is his slight frame. Opposing guards will body him, run him through myriads of screens...try to wear him out physically. Covering the opposing point is serious yeoman's work. The mental part is the least of my worries. Russell reminds me so much of Jalen Rose but albeit more talented. His shooting form is fine...the release is quick...the follow through is quite good. No funky mechanics. What I find re-assuring is that he and Clarkson are interchangeable...the latter can take some of the load off by creating off the dribble or running the offense having played the 1 last season.

Russell will have better finishers on this team no doubt... Clarkson and Randle to start. 24 won't have to labor creating a shot for himself. Let's not forget those screens that Hibbert will set. What I want to see is how is Russell on feeding the post? It is imperative that he gets it to Randle and Hibbert on the low block. The latter is important to keep the big man engaged. Reward the big dog!

My thoughts exactly. For a kid who spent one year in college he's very well spoken.

Intelligent, confident, humble....I like it. I can't compare his personality to another NBA player but he definitely has that superstar "it" when he speaks.

Maybe a little CP2...A nice guy but kind of moody/arrogant, but not as much of a whiny flopper.

I'm absolutely worried about his frame and strength defensively. It was my main concern of his in the NBA. Not to mention I'm not 100% sure he gets into the lane very easily in the NBA. I think he'll do well off of screens, but he'll have to be a crafty guy more than the typical guards we see in the NBA these days that are 90% athleticism. I think having Clarkson and Kobe will really help him ease into the role though. Clarkson can take the helm if Russell is having trouble getting into the lane and then Russell is a terrific floor spacer.
