I wasn't just talking about the last game. I'm talking in general period. Those two guys are scrubs. Just throwing a guy out there, because he's tall isn't the answer either. Those two options aren't vastly superior to jack.

If AD and Hayes are unavailable, I'd rather play Lebron or Rui at 5. He played the best options available to him. Hayes and Rui.

@Slick2021 what are you doing in a Laker fan board, Coach Ham?

You sound like that C bag ref defending himself on Twitter on a burner account.

And the fact you’ve been to the Philippines, too, is extremely suspicious

Ham has nothing to do with the loss against Sota .. it's on Bron and AD not playing .

Classic case of blaming Ham for everything .

Lakers are on a verge of ending as the 10th seed and Anthony Irwine just published his " Lakers are mad Ham didn't go to the last season lineup sooner " aticle again.

    But I thought seeding didn't matter :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Now they're scared

We’re already in season tournament champions. Maybe we shouldn’t get too greedy.

they're scared because the betting odds have us not escaping the play-in, and it's starting to hit home that we had the healthiest lebron/AD season in 4 years and this is the result.

ham's a big part of the reason and easy to excise.

I mean you can force your coach to play his best lineup as a GM and owner and if he doesn't do it , you can hire somebody who will ..

i think that's what's going to happen shortly. i don't think they could have fired ham midseason. ironically, he had to prove them right by playing the right lineups too late.

speaking of--i do have to say that this could have gone worse. there was a moment there when i thought darvin might just triple down and run us all the way out of the play-in.

i think he realized that his future as a coach--not just as the lakers' coach--was in jeopardy in that case, though.

Agreed. Did Ham do enough to save his job after his awful first half this season? I don’t know. Guess we’ll find out soon enough. A 9th or 10th place finish and early exit from the playin won’t cut it in my opinion. I think he would need to demonstrate that he can take us back to at least the 2nd round of the playoffs if not back to the WCF. Anything else is a failure in my opinion. The way he wasted the roster and trashed the chemistry of the team for the first half of the year is not a good look. Glad he finally figured out what worked, but boy did that ever take way too long with many bad ideas thrown in along the way.

can you really have confidence that he'll start the next season properly after this one?

No. Not unless there's at least two newly hired assistants who will hit him when he's even thinking up one of his asinine lineups. I also think it'll be imperative to not sign or trade for anyone that's ever played for a team where he was an assistant.

    absolutely not

I think he decided in his brain we'll have an "Open competition for starting spots" since we had so many new additions. Injuries gave him the excuse to use free reign, and he just 100% botched it all. I don't like the thought process he goes through, his rationale, nothing really. I can't see him back.

yeah, i didn't like the open competition for the spots and said so at the time. it ended up being an even bigger deal than i thought, tbh.

really want to know if the FO understood how loyal ham was to former players, too. no way they didn't hear through dlo's people about the schroder bond and its issues before bringing prince on board.

on one hand, it's great that we got bang for buck on talent in both cases, but there were other costs...

It's hard to think he'll be terribly hard to replace. He's gotten close to mutiny, but somehow still seems to be in the players good graces. Some can never come back from the brink once the ball is already rolling downhill on them.

His clownishness likely cost us a shot at anything meaningful this season. If we didn’t mess around from the start and were the 4th-6th seed who knows. I know many don’t like Irwin, but I agree with him here

Meh..I think some of yall are just bugging, When I look back on this season, I'm just not seeing some things, in the same way.

For all this Rui talk, he didn't look right to me, in his first 3 games, then he had to sit out, 9 out of the next 18 games. However the real key stretch of the season, that actually landed us in this position, happened right after the In Season Cup. We lost 9 out of the next 11 games, starting in San Antonio.

Several things went on during that stretch. First and foremost..Lebron went on a semi vacation, his play was uninspired to say the least, during that time, and then he started " reportedly " pushing trade ideas. There goes your "chemistry " issues.

This Ham Yada Yada is a bunch of noise IMO. When teams go through losing streaks, the players always, look for something to blame, other than themselves.

Darvin Ham isn't getting fired..deal with it. It looks like the players embraced that fact months ago to me. The record since Feb 1st reflects that.

There are going to be several teams at the top of the Conference, in Cancun or wherever, watching us still playing next month.

    Lakers in 6!
