I don’t know what the hell Ham is doing. I mean the guy is a point guard and he has Gabe who hasn’t found his rhythm or shot yet stuck down in the corner on offense, yes and we’re unnecessarily smaller with a 3 guard lineup and Prince for no good reason. He did the same thing sometimes with JHS, the moron. I can’t disagree with you he looked like crap tonight but Ham is something else with his coaching fetishes.
TBH Gabe coming back is screwing with our rotations. Dinwiddie was doing fine as our guard off the bench. Now Ham is pushing him out to the 3 to make room for Gabe and it’s gonna cost us in the playoffs. Completely squeezing Cam and Max out is idiotic. I shudder to think what will happen once Vando returns.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2023/07/how-teams-are-using-2023-24-mid-level-exceptions.html the mle didn't burn the house down. the knicks got donte divincenzo, and that was the huge victor of the nba mle last summer. this is another thing (like the jhs pick) that just doesn't move the needle for me. had gabe not been injured, i think he'd have been "fine". which is about what mle signings usually are. if gabe had a long injury history prior to signing him, then yes, that would have been on rob for making a silly gamble. but he didn't. we just got fluked again. on paper, gabe was a very nice fit for what we needed, imo. and i've preferred schroder, but he didn't want to be our backup pg. gabe did.
Donte has played well every place he's been and kept getting more burn when healthy - really really good signing by the Knicks. WOuld have been fun to have Donte and AR on the same team
What are the odds against, and how much fun it must be for Donte, Jalen and Josh all from the same title winning Nova team to now be playing together on the same Knicks team.
yeah, would have been nice. but tbh, nobody saw the leap he made this year coming. really think this has something to do with it, and had donte signed elsewhere, he would have been still good, but not this good. he's had a great year.
Good job Gabe. Getting posterized by your own teammate I guess he did do this out there... But also got in a lot of cardio. Looks like we have him hard capped at 14 minutes. His past 4 games, he's played exactly 14 minutes, that includes the Bulls game he came back for in DEC before surgery.
He makes the team noticeably quicker on defense on the perimeter. If he and Spencer ever find their offense this team will be a very tough out
Man, he's just a horrible offensive player isn't he? Jumper looks like it has zero chance of going in
I’ll say it again, he should’ve stayed on the shelf. We had a good 3 man guard rotation prior to him returning. Ham FINALLY had a decent rotation and Gabe threw a monkey wrench in it.
