the benching was a culmination is my point. and the whole idea that dlo wasn't ham's guy was the issue.

i must admit that i was pretty sure it was lebron who wanted dlo traded, but it's sounding like it was maybe ham.

Yeah. I have heard Bron and AD both like DLO.

That was not the kind of night you want to have after blowing up your coach in an article no matter how valid some of the points he made were.

Yeah, they really should've have dropped it right after the Bucks game last Friday. Timing doesn't get better than that. Instead comes on a day he's slated to go up against a team he struggles against, statistically in his bottom 3rd in ppg going off season split stats, who has a speedster for a lead guard who will also give him trouble.

    He's gone this off-season.

Doesn't matter in the big picture.

I think we give heavy consideration to moving Ham before letting DLO walk. It's his call of course, but he wants to be here under the right circumstances.

It's up to Ham to show he deserves to be here. He's been mediocre at best besides one miraculous run to the WCF. Seems to me he's out of excuses.

D'Angelo is outta here, Ham or not. He wouldn't be here now if anybody wanted him at the trade deadline. The idea that he's going to walk, and get a better offer than he currently has, is laughable at best. The article even stated, that he's viewed as a negative asset around the league.
Unfortunately we are going to have to sacrifice a pick, and another player in order to get rid of him.

This is him...talk,talk,talk, no show, play a few good games, talk, talk, talk, no-show. I don't blame Ham for not wanting him back. I guess it was the HC fault, in the other 4 times he got traded too.

He still lacks maturity...and some heart.IMO Everytime he speaks publicly, it's always all about him, not the team, not winning a chip, it's always all about his game, his feelings, what he needs, how he's been wronged, and he doesn't need to improve much in any area, it's always him, him, him.

He's still one of the better players in his draft class, but I wish we had traded down and picked Booker.

According to the media "insiders " Lebron was pushing for a Kyrie, Murray, Derozan or even Lavine trade. It's pretty obvious that none of them, could have been done without trading D'Angelo.

Watch...on his way out the door, he's going to be blaming Lebron too.

Yeah think he’d prefer Kyrie or Murray. Just in general, he likes and doesn’t have beef with DLO.

He’d ship out anyone other than AD for Kyrie though.

I'm not sure what indicates that, besides joking and cheers on the bench. James does that with everybody, even people that he wants moved

It's a lot of subtle stuff.

Dennis was this big issue for Russell. Dennis was also Lebron's, unofficial spokesman on the team.

Lebron supposedly, had issue with Westbrook, and his "Let's just out and have fun" spiel. The 1st thing out of D'Angelo's mouth when he got here? The exact same statement.

D'Angelo said that the team was playing well, but now they had to adjust to Lebron, when he came back from injury last season. Because you know, Lebron goes out and demands the ball, and does his own thing.

Shortly followed up, with his, "I'm not the PG here, I'm just a player". comments.

Lebron said, we didn't accomplish anything after game 4. He said making a little run, isn't some measure of success in his opinion. The hardest part was going to be taking the next step up, as players and as a team moving forward.

What did D'Angelo say? I thought that the season was a rousing success, and I don't think I really need to work on much.

The guy has been taking little jabs at Lebron, ever since he got here. Lebron is in his way, he's not able to really be himself, the coach didn't want him, it's not his fault, that defense isn't his thing. It really wasn't his fault for the Denver series, Jokic is just great.

It's never him, it's always something else, because he's soo nice, he just needs more love and understanding.

Ham benched Westbrook, benched Lonnie Walker, benched Austin, nobody came out and complained in the media. He benched D'Angelo for 7 games. How did he respond? I was wronged!!! This guy never liked me anyway!

No it's HIM, he should start by keeping his flap shut IMO.

I was in favor of moving Dlo for Murray just because I'm a huge Murray fan. I might be down to revisit that again this summer. But to all the pundits saying they know what's going to happen in the summer, I don't buy it. I think we all need to find out what happens down the stretch. Do we make a run again like last year? Do we sink in the playin? How does Dlo play? How does Ham coach? The FO will want to see how it plays out to determine the moves to make this summer. On the surface though I don't like the "we're getting a superstar" i.e. meaning Trae Young media talk. I don't want to put all our eggs in the basket of one guy who is an offense only player. Donovan Mitchell - sure, he plays some D too. But Trae? No. Too big of a contract for us to match and we'd lose way too much talent in that trade (Dlo, Rui and picks at least).

Timpf had a good breakdown of DLo today. DLo has a hard time with defenders that are quick enough to stay in front of him and strong enough to keep him from getting leverage on them. Bruce Brown and KCP did it in the Denver series, Keon Ellis and Davion Mitchell did it last night. It’s a similar issue that Harden has had in his career. Against certain matchups and in the playoffs when the intensity and physicality are turned up a notch, DLo’s skill level sometimes isn’t enough to make up for the lack of athleticism.

DLo has been an efficient 20+ ppg scorer for a few months now, so he’s in no way a bad player. He’s a very good player. But his matchup vulnerability is something that will probably always be there. It’s been true throughout his career.

Except they wanted Austin not DLO plus Rui and a pick. No reason to think that is going to change. You don't do THAT trade.

I honestly don't believe, that we have any interest in Trae Young. I think that's media hype, and Trae, presently, is the biggest name out there, (supposedly,) up for grabs this summer.

I saw something of note a few days ago, that the Kyrie/Luka pairing might be a wrap this summer, if Dallas doesn't make a deep playoff run. I'd keep an eye on that situation, Dallas have a couple of bigs I like too. Gafford, PJ Washington, the rookie...never know.

Anyway...Rob has not made a single move to date, that was predicted by the "insiders ". So..again..I think Trae Young would be the last move we'd make. Unless it's a 3or4 team trade, sending him somewhere else.

    Idk...he might land in Dallas

It's all still up in the air, I agree with that. I just don't get why Russell had to pour gas on a subject, and put all this spotlight on himself, in the middle of this late push.

It's stupid and continues to point, to a lack of maturity IMO. Can't take it back now, we'll see how it plays out.

Young tho, I just don't see it happening Jones. Too much money, to much to give up, and we still won't be addressing our big situation.

i think it would make sense for dallas to trade kyrie for dlo/rui. i'm not sure it makes sense for us to do that.

Still bonkers they could have kept Caruso even after the Westbrook trade and they said we're good we have this guy coming in from Miami who even Spoelstra couldn't figure out how to use
