I mean honestly this is some of the worst defensive principles I've ever seen.
Prince is on Fox - omg just shoot me now
Then Hayes guarding the PnR goes away from Fox's strong hand. I mean not only does he not tag Fox he actively moves away from Fox's left hand

This should have been a timeout right then and there to f***ing err friendly remind your team that Fox does not drive to his off hand

Defensive schemes could be better but they’re not going to make DLO ,AR and SD better defenders. This is the crux of the Lakers problems. When they need multiple stops it’s almost impossible because the perimeter defense is atrocious. If you play Cam and or Vando now you lack scoring. They also need another rebounding big. This team isn’t put together correctly IMO

This is the main problem with the team, even more so than Darvin who also sucks IMO. We don't have any two-way role players. DLo and Reaves are above-average guards, but they're unathletic and can't defend primary ballhandlers. Reddish is inconsistent at best defensively and sucks on offense. Vando is good defensively and inconsistent at best on offense. Rui is a rock-solid offensive player but doesn't use his physical tools to impact defense or rebounding. We hoped Max could fill a 3&D role but he's not quite ready for major minutes yet. Wood is decent offensively and below average defensively, Hayes just isn't good. Prince is a good shooter and average wing defender, but we're using him as a POA guy because everyone else is hurt or sucks at that and that's the worst part of his defensive game.

There isn't any garuntee, that we would have won a lot more games, with a different lineup either.

I remember Austin "Needing a month off" at the beginning of the season.

    Vanderbilt being injured and unavailable

Rui being in and out of the lineup due to injuries. When he was available, he played a lot of minutes, whether he started or not.

D'Angelo playing like crap, until he got benched.

It's not as cut and dried as folks keep trying to make it seem.

What I do know, is that Austin, D'Angelo and Rui, have all averaged more minutes per game this season, than they did last season.

I also remember Dennis avg 30 min a game last season, and Vincent basically never playing at all.

Ham is a bottom 5 coach.

    He gets outcoached regularly.

Eat his contract this summer and go upgrade.

If whatever remaining on his contract is too much money, sell the team.

    Doesn't mean they should.

Nevertheless, was saying that if Ham and his remaining money left on his contract are a reason they don't fire him for a brand like the Lakers because they're cheaper sell the team.

    But doesn't mean she will.

He didn't pick up his 3rd foul until the 3rd quarter. Please explain second quarter.

Talk about forgetting an entire quarter of basketball.

Props where they are due, I thought Ham did a great job with switching out the rotations at the end of the game. Nice defensive lineups and got some stops because of it.

It's the "blame coach when my team lost" era .

Nets went to B2B NBA Finals with Byron Scott as the coach .

Players on the floor decide the outcome of the game ..

I mean we went to the WCF with Ham last season .

The loss of DS and the Vando injury hurt ..

    True

However, the Lakers just suck at selecting coaches. Besides Vogel, who's a head coach that we moved on from? Walton, Scott, ?

Could argue that we need to stick with Ham and go through the growing pains of a guy who's just in his second year as a head coach professionally.

But being in win now mode, a major market and media outlets, coaching LBJ, he's under a microscope; additionally, he just hasn't been that good this year at times (being nice).

Let's see how we finish this season.

I don't like Ham as a coach but there was nobody available ..

There are very few coaches who really are difference makers out there

Truth is none of this would matter if Bron was 28 but he's 39 ..

There were others available: Atkinson (if we wanted him I believe) Stotts, etc. For the most part, they were all retreads, but they were available.

And for being the Lakers, why can't we find a difference maker as a head coach? Just as an example, Ainge hired Brad Stephens from Butler, and he was very good. Hires Hardy in Utah who is a good coach. We can't find anybody like that with our resources?

Yes, LBJ age matters. Would also probably hide Ham's ineptitude, but Bron would probably have him fire if he was that age right now. LOL.
