That's fair. I'll give it to the man, he conned everyone in his interview and introduction presser. I guess if you've interviewed for 20 HC jobs over the years, you should be elite at it by now. He was the best the market had to offer, but that's only because we spit in the eye of the better HC all for Westbrook's sake and because no one else would fess up to any culpability on that s*** show not working.

I really don't understand why you hire anyone with zero actual experience in that role and don't surround them with...experience. If Ham had a #2 with a head coaching resume, maybe he'd listen to him and maybe he wouldn't find himself in the spot he's in today. Should have hired Stotts or similar to whisper the answers in his ear, to call the timeout and to handle white board plays.

Yeah, we saw just how good of a talent evaluator Giannis is after the Griffin fiasco. Maybe we were still holding on to some strange dream that would be the path to landing Giannis? We payed his brother, who's not a NBA caliber player, a salary for years.

I think it's two things: 1) The Westbrook stuff was so loud and deafening that it drowned out anything else. Any issues we could blanket over as maybe that was 'cause of Russ (and a lot of it was) instead of getting an actual take on the quality of coach he was/wasn't. Then coming off that, the euphoric high for everyone involved carried them through. I will give it to him, he made some great adjustments in the playoffs between games and between series. In game...he has no f***ing clue. But he hit a button and every time it was the right one. My thought was if he could do that, he has to be a good coach. Right?...WRONG!

    2) Year 2, curtain is up. It's for real now. He doesn't get the rookie grace period and the oh he doesn't know better or he'll figure it out, he's new excuses. He has to own his decisions, mistakes and live with them and their scrutiny. It's been the opposite of the playoffs. Every decision he's made has been the wrong one or he will get to the right one three weeks after every single person with two eyes has already figured it out.

Before Ham, yes. Now, I want to get as far from that poisonous tree as possible. Bud gets results, but wears out his welcome wherever he goes.

I hope there are better options this off-season. Based on today's crop, I'd say Stotts with a strong pool of assistants. It won't happen, but I'd really like to see what Handy could do for the second half of the season so we can evaluate him. I am not in favor of a rookie HC, I'm done with that path. BUT is he ready for the #2 seat on the bench? I'd also like a former player as an assistant, they can bridge the gap easier. Billups if he gets canned. Or a Caron Butler, he's been getting high marks as an assistant.

One thing I can happily say...at least it won't be Doc Rivers.

:Jeanie Srsly: …. of course it does. This why I said when he put it out to the media what she said to him in an internal email I doubt she was asked first or appreciated it …. if things continued to go south.

That's not coaching. "Man up" is not coaching. "Sprinting back" [run harder] isn't coaching. First and Third quarter resistance?...Hmm...maybe the problem is your stupid starting lineup. Think of that, champ?

You all remember the Fisher Price See-and-Say toy? You pull the handle and hear the sound of whatever farm animal it lands on? That's Ham. You pull the handle and get a randomized coaching cliche. Jump higher. Run faster. Be better. I love Prince. Timeout?...What's that? Stronger as the season gets longer. BLAH f***ING BLAH. Enough. Save it for chapter titles for your autobiography.

I’m sorry, he should have been fired immediately after uttering THE WORST cliche of them all.

I never expected to say anything remotely similar, but he may actually be worse than Byron.

Man..is anybody really watching these games? Pick a coach..he's not saving this sorry a** perimeter defense. Unless he benched, Prince and Reaves for starters.

Unfortunately Reddish is unavailable, but the book has been out on the Lakers all season. They can't guard anybody with a pulse, on the perimeter. It's even worse than it was in the playoffs now.

I get the gist if going big, but damn, these little dudes on every team, have been killing us since the Memphis series. It's not just scoring, allowing guys to continually turn the corner with a head of steam, breaks down the entire defense. AD can't always cover for that.

Somebody is getting traded..I'm not sure who right now, but I won't be surprised, if the trade involves someone, other than Murray or Lavine.

I'm looking down the road for the playoffs, almost every playoff contender, has perimeter guys that can score. Big problem for the good guys.

I don’t really disagree with anything you say here. There is a lot of blame to dish out for why this team is currently such a failure. Ham is obviously a tangible part of that, we can debate whether he’s the main problem or not.

But at this point, it’s obvious he’s not the solution. And more importantly it’s obvious the team doesn’t believe in him. Don’t even need to get into the weeds about it more than that IMO. He has to go.

Even if it’s not fair (it is), you almost have to fire him to try to light a fire under this team. Maybe Handy or Jent aren’t the best long term replacements, but maybe we catch lightning in a bottle and the team galvanizes behind the interim coach. It’s at least worth a shot.

In any case, it’s year 1.5 for Ham and it’s already obvious he’s a lame duck. Cut the sunk cost as soon as possible and move on.

The HC has to fall on his sword, for not winning games. That's the way it goes in the NBA. Vogel got fired two years, after winning a championship.

I'm not concerned about Darvin's job status, it's chip or bust with Lebron, he knew that when he got hired.

I think we need to make some moves, beyond the coaching staff.

It’s basically what signals his end for me, when we have to use cliches or “man up” rather than actual coaching he needs to go.

We’d be contenders if only we “man up!”.

Again, the writing was on the wall ever since his first presser, which was as useless as these are.

While I definitely agree with the rotation issues, these guys do need to man up.

I actually tend to agree with most of this. Particularly our lack of perimeter defense. But I believe we could create our own issues for our opponents by going big.
