this team is really consistent at poorly defending in general, teams get wide open 3 consistently due to our guys getting sucked into the paint and ball watching rather than watching their man...every gm, dlo, ar n bron seems to always be in no man land, not close enough in the paint for help defense and not close enough to the guy they are suppose to guard n its an EASY WIDE open 3pt....why do they pack the paint with AD in there?

f*** this guy. Season is lost (even if we make the play-in by some miracle), Bron's and AD's last hurrah is probably lost as well.
Absolutely criminal, i hope Jeanie and Rob get herpes for sitting on their hands, while watching this s***show.

Only half a season left of Darvin Scam's s***.

He's lost his players. He has no solutions. Less of a clue And he's about as much of a defensive coach (despite the label) as MDA.

I hate being proven right. Despise it.

Screw Pimple and anyone who enabled him. Makes me wonder about Russ...

Fake good defensive coach vs Real good defensive coach in Vogel. But Ham’s the bomb and Vogel sucks.

Let's not get carried away about Russ. He has a track record that can't be ignored good and bad.

    why even help here?
I'm just so confused AD is back there for heavens sake should you just tell prince to tag the roll man to give enough time for AD to show and recover?

There is no need for help: is this D. lo or the coach? Dlo was terrible defensively so I don't where this goes in terms of fixing

This is just insane you have one healthy good perimeter defender, you're other one is hurt, and you have one who is a few years away in Christie and he gets only 19 minutes when he was 5-5 from the field

Like WTF: help me here. I have big issues ith Vando's offense but against this Nets team who is playing a bunch of essentially gunners how does Vando not get 40 minutes? Nets have played like this since Atkinson was there and he had Dinwiddie/claxton at that time. Same s*** they ran 4 years ago. Nets went on a 16 point swing till he brought Vando in but it was the regular line shift.

like this isn't hockey: it's ok to bring in someone before they regular shift. Teams adjust you have to too.

Like what is going on here with this defense
Prince going under a screen against a red hot shooting Nets team when he has Reaves ready to go

Dlo again just seems to have no idea where to be in terms of team defensive concept. how many times does he rotate when he shouldn't? Its crazy.

reaves is getting a lot of flack but the poor guy is being forced into the high difficulty matchup due Dlo and Prince f***ing up so much.
This why Cam fixed so many things when he was healthy and why Vando needs more minutes if Cam can't go - you need a POA you can navigate screens

And I'm sure the other 20 three pointers Brooklyn hit would show the same eneptness on defense as these two.

Players need to be coached. Doesn't matter who is playing. Guys like Lebron and AD still need to be coached and the surrounding talent definitely need to be coached.

Problem is, Darvin Ham doesn't know how to f***ing coach. It's that simple. There is no talent that can be brought in that will change this.

Lakers are toast and the easiest thing to do is to get rid of Ham and seriously start focusing on what coach you will bring in this summer that is worth a damn. The issue there is, Jeanie and Rob have no f***ing clue how to find one. The Lakers have botched 4 coaching hires the last decade, including Frank Vogel, the difference with Vogel is that guy was their best hire and they still f***ed it up even after he won your damn team a title.

When Lebron and AD are gone, everyone better get ready for NY Knicks 2.0. Its gonna happen as long as Jeanie and Pelinka are in charge.

    Here is Reaves over helping.

I dont get his this defense philosophical here when you have AD back there. The person who needs to help is AD is the guy guarding the ball handler as he has to rotate to put a body in AD mans to prevent the dump off.

This commitment to give up 3s is wrecking this defense

yeah, no. russ looks good with the tenants because he's on the contract (minimum) and in the role (20mpg backup) that he wouldn't accept here. f*** him. he could have taken that role here and been loved. but he was a pain in the a** on and off the court the whole time.

i don't want to think about it. lebron saved us. is there another one? luka's my hope, but is rob going to reel him in? if not, we're back on the same pre-lebron trajectory.

i will say that rob's moves last year--and even over the summer--gave me some confidence that he's not an idiot. but you need more than that.

to me, that one's not coaching. that's reaves not paying enough attention.

Hey chief, watch and learn what a real post game presser looks like from a coach. "Run harder. Jump higher. Play faster" ain't it.

    Take notes Darv.

Helping one pass away is the reason we got swept last season

I thought it was basic and common knowledge to not do that ??
