right. in training camp he declared a couple starting positions open, right? then he proceeded to play gabe and prince like his life depended on it, when both were signed to be backups. just let them be the backups! how hard was this?!

don't get me started on also making major alterations to the system. i feel like ham caught lebron (and a large chunk of laker fandom)'s focus on the fact that we didn't win the title last year instead of the fact that we became a good team at the end of last year. we chucked the latter to chase the former, and now we're in 12th place again. you can't win the title from 12th place!

So: Ham announces this is the starting 5 from here on out, unless someone gets injured (they will):
    AD/Bron
    AR/D-Lo
    Taurean

What's the over/under on how long this lasts? I give it 5 games. Either someone goes down, or Prince starts subbing in for a starting Vando.

I'm okay with this lineup, but cut Prince's mins by 8-10 per game.

    We'll see.

You’re OK with DLO and AR and Prince, rather than those two with Vando? Maybe I misunderstood.

But Vando, and if he’s healthy, helps cover the toughest guard, usually the PG in a way they can’t and neither can Prince. Last year’s most successful lineup we should have been building on once Vando got back. Ham had no qualms telling AR and then DLO to come off the bench, so why should he have with Prince. If it’s for the betterment of the team? And DLO and AR together is far more positive for the team than negative.

    Dlo/AR
    Vando/Bron
    AD

is probably the best 5 we can start. Prince off the bench with minutes reduced, so Rui can play more, and than insert Wood to play with AD, because that chemistry is good. Wood's skills are shooting the 3, rebounding and some shot blocking and we need all that desperately. The other two guys are Cam (let him get 100% healthy and use sparingly in tough defensive match-ups) and then use Max as much as you can on the perimeter so he doesn't get rusty.

    That's your 10-man rotation and it's solid.

I love that. It makes so much sense. I have absolutely no confidence Ham would see the same thing, now, after all this time …. and even less confidence he would then logically implement it what with all his seeming hidden political/personal history reasons he does the things he does. It’s easy to hate that now because if he doesn’t get a clue SOON this season is wrecked. For not even a hint of a good reason.

He's lucky the game didn't come down to one or two possessions (it almost did). Pissing his challenge away FOUR minutes into the game?! Real coaches let that s*** go that early unless it was the second foul on AD or Bron and then, maybe burn it.

This was a block/charge foul on his precious Prince. Very clearly showcasing the issue with his willingness to die on Prince hill. This man jumped up like he heard gun shots again. He didn't even consult his coaches or wait for the overhead replay. Nope. Ham knows best. ...Until he didn't and lost the challenge.

Please fire this guy - It doesn't matter what we do with this roster he's going to sink us playing f***ING PRINCE 30 MINUTES A GAME NO MATTER HOW HES PLAYING!!!

It sucks cuz I actually liked the Prince signing over the summer but Ham is reallly making me HATE it now.

Stop being a f***ING IDIOT HAM jesus christ - and both times we've beaten the Thunder it's saved this a** hat's job...it's fool's gold man this guy is getting lucky. This team is winning IN SPITE of his stupid a** rotations.

Stotts would have been boringly fantastic for this team. Any competent coach would have this team near the 4th to fifth seed

also, after we had no qualms about forcing kidd on vogel, we suddenly didn't demand that ham had a higher profile assistant involved?

i don't know; just hope we do better next time. and there will probably be a next time quite soon.

That's three straight games he's covered for us that he's been interviewing on air. Sickening. Hopefully Rob and Jeanie don't watch back the telecasts

Doc as the next HC? Thank you, I'd rather keep the current one, as unqualified as he is.

I also have doubts that we will fire him. Especially if we make the playoffs again which I do expect despite our difficulties.

Play your best players Ham. Its just that straightforward.

we're currently in 10th. of the teams ahead of us, the only one you can reasonably expect to drop is utah, but that's based on talent, not recent results. houston has lots of motivation to win (don't own their pick), and golden state obviously is all-in (also don't own their pick) and will likely make a big trade that adds talent.

i don't know...we fumbled the easiest part of the schedule, and the big dogs have been pretty healthy, which history says almost certainly won't continue. i think there's a very good chance we miss the playoffs (probably make the play-in, but that's not a guarantee). even if we get there, it will mean another year of not having home court, etc. if we go out in round 1 (which to me is an optimistic outcome at this point), does darvin keep his job? i'm not sure, tbh.

I think there is still time for us to finish strong this month and am encouraged by how we've played against tougher teams (for the most part). It will be tough, but I think we can get there and if we can avoid a first round matchup against the nuggets or Clippers we'd have a shot in the first round against most of those teams.
