Considering how vital he is to this defense, playing a gimpy version of him 8 minutes and 11 minutes while running him onto the ground on the process is as dumb a decision as the staff could make. That will result in him getting hurt for another season ending "2 weeks away."
Gets even better... And the wording is not great because this is what we said Gabe had... and we know how that is going
Wow. And our medical team potentially missed that. I’d say unbelievable but it’s really easy to believe.
the fact that this team could effectively be that much worse on defense without a bust of a pick says alot bout this team
Bummer to hear about Cam's knee. He should just rest and heal up. We'll need him later and at full speed and health. He's vital to our D.
we continue to have the worst medical staff in the nba and have been for the last 30 years, at least. Vitty and Co. were hidden by Kobe's inhuman pain tolerance and Shaq being a lazy a**. And it was all downhill from there.
This is a good thing for the team Cam is out , him and Prince are playing too much and both shouldn't start , they're bench players
There’s an undercurrent of Cam slander I’m hearing on podcasts lately and I don’t get it. He’s still a useful player for us when he’s healthy.
He, the same as Prince, is not being used right IMO. You can’t have 2 starters averaging 24 and 31 minutes per game giving you 6.5 and 9.8 ppg and expect to compete. This isn’t the early 2000’s where you can have guys like Harper, Green, Fox, etc doing that scoring wise and be ok. Prince should be a 15mpg bench guy, Cam should be probably the same, or surrounded by all scorers starting in Prince’s place but maybe not closing games. He simply doesn’t score enough, or even LOOK to score enough, he only very occasionally has games where he puts up and hits 3 or 4 threes, it just isn’t frequent enough. He’s a solid player, but it’s clear why he was had for the minimum, he isn’t anywhere near consistent enough. Again, his defense is solid, but for me it’s also impressed less as of late, maybe that’s due to the knee thing, but meh, I dunno, I don’t mind Max getting more run and more time to develop over Cam, who I don’t see a big future for here anymore. I certainly hope when he comes back he isn’t a starter anymore at the very least, to me he hasn’t done enough to keep that spot, same as Prince hasn’t.
Yeah, I feel like he and Prince are being blamed for Ham using them too much. I think this will sort itself out as long as the rotation issues go away.
Yep ^^^ . Especially Prince gets dumped on and he has been really terrific much of the time for us this season. (for what we are paying him) Just too many minutes because of Ham, and he can’t defend like Vando (when healthy) to better allow DLO and Reaves to start, which is a great thing for the offense (more so than Prince) and energy and chemistry of the team. It’s really important.
Right. Because Malone mis-diagnosis didn't happen in 2004. Which is 20 years. And it certainly didn't start that year.
Cam's defense has been a total revelation to me this season. He's pretty elite in that regard and we'll need that come post season (if we get there). He's on a vet min deal and there is no down side to keeping him around except for Ham doing screwy lineup jobs and messing with team chemistry. I like him as a project and he's had a real hand in winning some games for us. I'm not as high on Prince but I don't hate him at all. I just think Ham is using him WAY too much and he's not getting production out of him relative to usage. He shouldn't be a starter by any stretch. And he shouldn't be playing more than 15-20 minutes a game. Same for Cam. Bring him off the bench for some defensive intensity on the perimeter guys/wings. He and Vando could be staggered for the defensive pressure element.
